My family of five ate here with another family when moving our kids into Baylor in August. The restaurant was almost empty, it took forever to order, the service was terrible and very, very slow considering there was very few people in the restaurant. There was a $6.50 upcharge for a side substitution and the food while decent, was not... More

Nice decor and ambiance perfect for a couple. Great food and wine. A nice date place in Waco. Although Mediterranean style, it is not just that. The owner/chef is from Greece (as I recall) but the menu is not just Greek. It is a wide variety of meats and fish done in a variety of preparations with a Mediterranean flare.

This is a quiet hidden Mediterranean style restaurant. This restaurant offers excellent service and it offers a selection of wines to go with your meal. It has a romantic atmosphere or you can eat out on the patio, weather permitting. It is a hidden gem located on Washington Ave. almost across the street from St. Mary's Church. Every plate I... More

1424 Bistro is a gem for the Waco community. A wonderful diverse menu, nice wine options and an ambiance that fills a need in the area. It reminds us of a quiet, Mediterranean restaurant. Nothing is better than a bottle of wne on their patio.

If you are looking for an intimate place to enjoy a quiet dinner then this is the place to go. You can actually enjoy each others company and have conversation. You can have choice of a gourmet meal or casual. My favorite is the "flaming cheese" appetizer with fresh bread and a nice glass of wine over conversation. It is... More

Excellent good, excellent service. One of my favorite places for special occasions. Be sure to eat outside if the weather permits.

The service was half way decent, however the shrimp scampi was was the worst I've ever had. The pasta was considerably over cooked and it was served with five of the smallest shrimp I've ever been served. On top of that they were very fishy tasting. I suppose it's better than fast food.

This restaurant has no street appeal! However, inside you will find a cosy elegance and wonderful food as well as great service. The prices are a little high but there are lunch specials. There is a choice of gourmet or casual.

Eat outside when the weather allows. Although you are on a busy street, greenery blocks most of the traffic and makes nice. Food a bit pricey, but good service.

Chef is great, always knows what's fresh, and won't push something just to get it moved. Highly recommend!
