Nice atmosphere

Overall the food was just ok. The atmosphere was great and just what we wanted for a nicer date night. Good service and not overly crowded.

A friend and I wanted to treat ourselves to a nice dining experience while spending the day in Waco. We arrived early (5 p.m. - opening time on Saturdays) and were greeted by a friendly staff. Tables quickly filled so obviously this is a popular spot. We both chose the Sea Bass that was served with two vegetables and a... More

Pretty ambiance and interior. The outside and area of the restaurant was a bit old and run down. Location was really away from downtown. I almost didn't think there was a restaurant.

We started with the Saganiki flambe cheese which is a slice of Greek cheese between two rinds. The rind made the cheese tough especially when it cooled and the cheese tasted salty. My wife had Portobello Mushroom which was too cheesy for her taste. Our friend had Fettucine Alfredo which was tasteless and she hardly touched it. I had the... More

After traveling through Waco about a million times on the way to either Dallas or Austin, we decided to actually stop and have a nice dinner in Waco. We had no idea where to go, but after researching places on-line, we came to the conclusion that the 1424 Bistro would be perfect. The setting is very comfortable and the staff... More

Legit. The whole package. Service quick, pleasant and attentive. Food is lovely, wine list is super long ( I'm not wine literate so i can't say if it's a great list, but lots of diners around us seemed to be enjoying their selections). Diverse menu, beef Wellington is greatness. Shrimp ettoufee is really good as well. Table side cheese flambe... More

One of Waco's best. The food is very good with great atmosphere. You can't go wrong with the 1424 Wellington. It is also a good spot for lunch
