The restaurant may not look like much but the food and service are outstanding. Our waitress informed us the specials and I decided to try the all you can eat catfish. I am not a big eater but the price was good so I went for it. I was not disappointed. The fish was quite tasty as well as the... More

A Waco icon, George’s is really more about nostalgia than the food, but if you’re looking for a smorgasbord of artery-clogging fried food – this is the place. (There ARE a few healthy options, like salads, but that’s not really why you go to George’s.) Every meal at George’s should begin with a basket of it’s fluffy little rolls (make... More

I've been coming to George's for 18 years. Can't believe I never reviewed it before. There have been some changes over the years but the cold "Big O's" and good food have not changed. I like the "Big O" deck if I can get there early before the crowd assembles. When the deck is full the noise level is over... More

My family and I were in Waco for a nice road trip visiting the Dr Pepper museum. We ate at George's. A co-worker recommended it. I was a little skeptical. But the restaurant proved itself. They offer a variety of dishes from grilled shrimp to chicken salad. I had the strawberry chicken salad and it was delicious (and huge)! George's... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my visits to George's, what an atmosphere! Definitely a college hang-out, with lots of regulars mixed in. The atmosphere is just everyone having a good time. Food was about what I expected, good, but nothing extraordinary. You won't be disappointed when you visit!

We went there based on reviews. They told us we had about a 20 min wait. After 35 min still no table. Went back in ( need to wait outside no waiting inside). There was several available tables when I went in. They said sorry and sat us at a table. 20 min later and several others people coming in... More

I've got nothing bad to say about George's. My son and his wife, who live in Waco, suggested it for lunch. The margaritas are great, the "Bear Bite" appetizers we had were wonderful, and all our lunch selections from salads to chicken fried steak were excellent. Prices were also very reasonable. My only question after our meal was why hadn't... More

It is a little difficult to navigate to off the highway, and then find a parking spot, but we'll worth it. As a hint - their catering office is across the street and you can park there as an overflow area. Separate smoking and non-smoking rooms keep everyone happy. It is everything you anticipate - plenty of burgers and fried... More

We are lunch at George's last week. It has a really fun college town feel to it. Great food at a good price and a little something for everyone.
