Good Tex-Mex Food in Waco

Ninfa's food was good and the service was awesome. We were in Waco for a convention and decided to walk across the street for lunch...they had not been told there was a large meeting at the convention center and were not prepared but you wouldn't know this based on the service (I talked to the... read more

Ate early dinner yesterday. Queso dip appetizer was average but was served medium warm and with thick chips. We wound up eating the thinner chips that came with the salsa, both red and tasty green. My chicken fajita quesadilla was good..lots of chicken. Hubby's tacos Eddy were HUGE and we brought half with us as take out. Not a bad... More

Where can you get $25 dollars worth of real lump crabmeat in a burrito and pay $16 dollars. At Ninfas of course in Waco. This Houston original has a beautiful restaurant in a restored downtown Waco building with original Brick walls exposed. Very neat interior. Food is fantastic and as I eluded earlier, the prices are very good. Will come... More

I like Ninfa's in Dallas, but the one in Waco has the worst Mexican food since I have been in TX (43 years).

4 stars on trip advisor????? We had three people in our group and none of us enjoyed our meal. It was fair to poor. The salsa, chips, and handmade flour tortillas were the only things that were good. Lots of people there on Monday at lunch but we couldn't figure out why.

We were a party of 4 adults & 2 kids. We ordered a variety of menu items. Our 10 year-old requested a piece of chicken with a side of rice- it tasted like they had boiled the chicken. Margaritas were overpriced- $9 for a regular mug size- as was the rest of the menu. We ordered a large queso, which... More

We came to Texas from Florida for a college visit and hoped to find excellent Tex-Mex. This wasn't it. Average tamales, enchiladas and tacos. We have food this average in Florida.

The atmosphere is wonderful, and nicely laid out, but it seems like since it's downtown, and so close to Baylor, their prices are a bit high. I paid $20 for a piece of baked chicken smothered in what seemed to be 2 onions that had been sliced and grilled to help fill the empty plate.

I came here with a giant (30+) group during an interview for school. The service was slow, but the restaurant was packed and we were with such a huge group I consider that slow would come with the meal. I got the pork carnitas. The meat was very tender and juicy. The chips and salsa that came with it were... More
