Elite has great pictures on the wall of bygone times when I was kid however nostalgia does not translate to quality food. I had a house salad that was had no personality about it - iceberg lettuce, a little onion, and tomato slices. Unremarkable. I had a baked potato with it that was just barely warm and not quite done.... More

I guess the servers love their job as they were all so happy. Ours was training another server and so our service was way beyond expectations. And the King Ranch Casserole was amazing - but definitely enough for two meals, but whose complaining? Very clean and they have booths that easily fit 6 diners - don't find that anywhere. I... More

This place is neat because of the atmosphere and the way they have history displayed at various locations of the restaurant. The service was superb and the food delicious. They have some unique side dishes and desserts. And I like places that preserve the spot that has been around for a long time.

Stopped in for lunch and was very pleased. The restaurant is an interesting and eclectic combination of old and new. In some ways, it could be a 1960's diner - but with pleasant wait staff! In other ways it is very modern with plenty of flat screen televisions tuned to many different channels. Dining alone, I agreed to be seated... More

It's hard to beat two for one burgers on Mondays. But they did with half price appetizers The Dr. Pepper burger was tasty but the sweet potato fries too sweet - go figure. The onion rings were okay but the fried pickles were excellent and a little spicy.

We have eaten at the Elite Grill several times, food was always good. Our daughter, who attends Baylor, had a buy one/get one coupon from the back of her grocery store receipt. Although there was no condition stipulated, the restaurant, which was 25% full, elected not to honor the coupon on July 4. Given that the "free" meal would "cost"... More

The restaurant has character, and a history dating back to 1919. Old photographs are mounted on the walls – 1940s/1950s pictures of the diner – and there is an Elvis room, with pictures of the singer, acknowledging the fact that he ate at the Élite, and came to nearby Fort Hood for military service in the late 1950s. We thought... More

We were a large party--Wacoans and out of towners. We asked before ordering for quicker service. A bowl of soup took 20 minutes to get to the table. Never again!

From the time we walked in to leaving, it was just okay. To begin with, something delayed our waiter and we did spend a little idle time waiting to order. This is not good when you need to get back on I-35. But he did come and from that point did a good job. Each of us ordered the King... More

Elite tries to pass off as a fancy restaurant. They do not follow through on this image. The selection is sub par and I've never been happy with any of the dishes I've ordered there. I have heard horror stories about what goes on back in the kitchen (very unsanitary!) I would NOT recommend eating here.
