Not fancy but good value!

Came here on a whim and glad we did! Nothing fancy at all, but good food. Some of the best Egg Foo Young I have ever had. Really affordable prices. Family owned business. Don't let the looks scare you away.

Always good service. The food is hot but not always well seasoned. The restaurant could use a good cleaning and updating.

This has to be the best Chinese Restaurant in Waco, Tx. Each time you come in, the food is made fresh. My favorite soup there is the Chicken Rice Soup. I also look forward to that. In a matter of fact, my son orders a large bowl of it each time we come and that serves as his meal. There... More

On our way home from Dallas last weekend we stopped in Waco to eat. We looked at Zomato to find what was nearby and good. We found that Cathay House had a 4.4 on Zomato so we decided to try it. It was a little bit out of the way but with the 4.4 we thought it was worth the... More

The staff is friendly, but far from providing good service. The food is not always hot, and is mediocre at best. The "chips" they serve are often stale. I only go when my lunch mates drag me there. While it may be cheap, I would pay double for good food, a clean establishment, and quality service.

This is one of my favorite Chinese places in town. They always take the water chess nuts out of anything I order. Food comes out hot. Family run they recognize customers. Super busy at lunch but not so at night. Easy place to go with out a wait for good food on weekends !

Wasn't too impressed with the food. It was decent but have had much better. The chicken in the chicken lo mein was bland. But they did give heaping portions. No alcohol available, it seems they lost their liquor license. The reason I thought it would have been better was because when we walked in there was rather large table of... More

Cathay House has quality food and always comes out hot. They will work with you if you don't care for some ingredients or want added ingredients in a dish. Prices are very reasonable and owners are on the premises. The dad is a super chef. I also like the quiet ambiance of the restaurant.

Credit where credit is due...potstickers are made while you wait and are the best we have had! Crispies were stale, and too much breading around small brown mystery chicken meat. Avoid on Sunday or experience mean rude apparently starving after church crowds with wild eyes lunging at the buffet (only on Sundays).
