I don't live in Waco, but when I'm in town I'll make a special trip to Katie's. The frozen custard is as good as any I've had anywhere in the country. I highly recommend the Texas Turtle (fudge, carmel, pecans). If you hit it at the wrong time it can be very crowded, if we had arrived 5 minutes later... More

It been awhile since we've had a real frozen custard and Katie's was as good as I've ever had. We went on a Sunday night and the place was packed. The custard itself is wonderful and they have many great ways to serve it. I had the Texas Turtle--outstanding. Katie's also has hamburgers, etc., which we didn't try, but they... More

Another Waco tradition, Katie's Custard is a year round treat. Can't tell you much about the "food" but the custard is fab. The turtle sundae will knock your socks off. I don't care what that other Hewitt custard place tells you,....this here is the best in Waco!

Really clean and quality tasting custard. After I ate a small cone I wanted another. Whoever is making their mix takes pride in what they do and you can tell is the taste. If you don’t like custard you will after trying Katie’s.

The young staff was overwhelmed with the halftime rush after a Baylor football game--can't imagine what they'll do when the game's over. Yet the frozen custard was vey good. Just glad we weren't the people in front of us whose order was completely lost/forgotten!

Sitting ar a sticky wooden picnic table beside a noisy, busy street, with chocolate running down your fingers . . . now that's what it's like at Katie's. This walk up is a icon in the area for a good reason. The frozen custard is awesome. Save your stomache and pallette and skip the food fare. It is bland and... More

Katie's frozen custard was terribly over-priced. The quality was poor. Really nothing special compared to Dairy Queen.

The custard is good, but too pricey. Due to that I may not go back. Other places are just as good and more affordable, and have a better variety of flavors.

The custard was pretty good at this establishment but they only have two flavors (vanilla and chocolate). Still, simplicity might be key as they are able to focus their attention on toppings and customer service. Nice little place to grab a quick treat and the covered seating was a nice touch. Has a great 1950's feel to the location.

Katie's is a unique Waco feature. It's a place that you need to try at least once. You have to be a huge fan to want to come again and again though.
