The Cheese Burger was delicious and the staff was nice. It is definitely old school and looks it. Does it need a update,,,I don't think so, it is part of the Burger Joint atmosphere. I also had a Chocolate shake and it was pretty good. I cannot tell you the last time I had a shake so I have nothing... More

If you want a good old fashion burger joint in Waco, Health Camp would be worth checking out. The food is average and the service was very slow and this was for a lunch around 2:00. Kind of hard to get in and out of as well, so if you are from out of town, pay attention.

Having survived the roundabout (these still exist?!) in Waco, you are greeted by a hamburger joint that was started in 1948 and looks like it. I had seen signs for Health Camp for years and read articles, but had never visited. I was greeted by a place that looked right out of "American Graffiti" and it was busy, so it... More

We met our kids and grand children there last weekend. This place is a staple for folks around Waco but they must be living on their on reputation. They are known for their shakes, malts, and burgers but my husband and I will not eat a burger there again. They were dry and not tasteful.I could hardly get mine down... More

I went with a couple of friends for lunch on Sunday. One friend recommended this place. He has relatives in the area. We all had burgers, fries or tater tots. The burgers tasted like what you would eat in a elementary school cafeteria - very thin and tasteless. The tater tots were good. How can you screw up a tater... More

The Health Camp has been a going concern since 1949. We stopped there after dinner and loved the hot fudge shake. The shake tasted like real (not fake) chocolate. Health Camp is apparently popular, as we went on a Wednesday early evening and the place was fairly crowded with happy-looking families. When ordering, you have an option of ordering at... More

I arrived at !:30 p.m. on a Thursday afternoon. With 3 persons ahead of me in line, I placed my order and paid for 2 compo burger meals to go. So good, so far. But then the wait! I stood and waited for a 45 minutes. I might of left, but I had already paid for the food and I... More

A 4PM visit on hot June day for an icy cold milkshake, what could be better? Well, how about an icy cold milkshake in less than 20 minutes? Good luck with that. Cherry chocolate, cherry chocolate cheesecake and a strawberry took more than 20 minutes. Really? Four or 5 folks working the counter area, seemed to be more interested in... More

Very Disappointing. two friends recommended it. Texas Highways recommended it. Open since 1948. Tiny low ceiling place with no room to even stand in line to order your food without being bumped into by others and avoiding staff who couldn't even exit the kitchen without carefully squishing their way through the crowd.. Not nearly enough seating (no seats opened up... More
