Underwhelming Experience

The steak was good, though a bit fatty. The sides were disappointing. 2 of us requested the 'sweet potato' and it arrived as a portion of a sweet potato. The server advised that sweet potatoes are cut into halves or thirds. This is certainly something which should have been on the menu - listed... read more

Classic case of pathetic service spoiling an already average meal. I rarely rate any restaurant a 1, but the service (or extreme lack thereof) certainly qualifies this local establishment. First and last time at the restaurant due to service...food was of average quality. I would recommend that you look elsewhere for dining opportunities in the very beautiful city.

The food was great and had enough leftover for a steak sandwich the next afternoon. Had a piece of Pecan Pie to take back to the hotel for Dessert.

After a long day of travel, we asked around town about where to get something great to eat. Three out of five people recommended Jack's. We were too tired to go out to sit in a restaurant, so we ordered and brought it back to our room. The food was great! And HOT even after we got back to our... More

My wife and I were returning from Eagle Pass on Wednesday evening and since the trials of the day had not allowed us time to eat, we decided to stop in Uvalde. We had never eaten at Jack's so thought we would give it a try, great idea. This is a small town restaurant where the service is always better... More

Worst lunch I've ever had. Texas ribeye with salad. My salad had old crutons that were soggy and the core of the lettuce. Never received bread which is supposed to be good so I can't comment on that. Ordered rare steak it was more on the blue side but not a problem for me. The steak was so horribly seasoned... More

I went here twice while on a business trip. This place was recommended by a local and the food was great. The cheese steak is wonderful. When they first brought it out, I thought it was just ground beef, but it was well done and very tasty with just the right amount of spice I don't drink, but I ate... More

Stopped here on New Year's day driving back from Big Bend. Place was warm and inviting and the staff was very nice. Ordered the ribs, which were incredibly fatty and very disappointing. BF had a chicken dish that was just OK. On the plus side, they did have black-eyed peas, which of course we needed to eat on New Year's... More

My wife and I both had lunch here on a weekday. 6oz sirloin, baked potato for her and mac&cheese for me, sweet tea and a dinner salad. The bread they bring before the meal is awesome. They bring butter or butter with honey to go with it and it was piping hot. The salad was pathetic. Iceberg with 6 cherry... More

Its a steakhouse, but my dinner companions did not want steak. They said the spaghetti and meatballs were good. I had the BBQ chicken plate, which was so-so, but the grilled squash was tasty. You should probably stick to steaks in a small town steakhouse, so I have only myself to blame. ..
