This restaurant is in the most fabulous old mansion on a hill with a great ambiance and spacious patio that looks over the garden. Yes! They really grow their own cilantro. The food is good and I've always had wonderful service. Off the beaten path but worth the drive for sure!

Have been to this restaurant several times with a party of 5 or more. Beautiful mansion on a hill and pretty view. Parking can be hard for those who need to park close for health reasons. I am a died hard Tex-Mex person which is not what is on the menu. Portions are large and wait staff very professional. If... More

Maybe my expectations were too high. Food quality in the entree section was outstanding. We were seated in an extremely loud room with a table of 14 celebrating someone's birthday. After requesting a move, we were denied the move. Finally, the loud party left. Still bad acoustics in the yellow room-avoid that room if possible. Service was attentive but slow.... More

The Sea Bass was the best fish of ANY fish I have ever had at any restaurant. And my wife and I frequent 4 / 5 star restaurants monthly. My wife had the Carne Azada and was very pleased. Absolutely can not wait to return! Craig & Jessica from Dallas

From the first day my family and I went here, Villa Montez easily became my favorite. The lovely atmosphere, coupled with a large outdoor patio, is only second to the scrumptious (and hard to come across) Latin cuisine. I truly enjoy every experience I have had here, and am always looking forward to more :-)

I agree with Zelda196207 that the restaurant itself is a charming location, but the food was average. While it is more Latin that the usual Tex-Mex in East Texas, it was only average. It is worth trying and I actually would go again, but with reasonable expectations.

This upscale Mexican Food is quite different from your typical Mexican/Tex-Mex food and probably tastes wonderful to more upscale diners, unlike myself, though I would still say it was good. The service was good and atmosphere was nice. Though I would call this high end dining, it was not overpriced.

This restaurant has a mega amount of charming looks but my friend and I found the food was average in taste. While the menu wasn't big there were food choices from different Latin countries. It's definitely worth going to but just don't expect exceptional food.

Villa Montez is a family favorite. The food has fabulous flavor and beautiful plating! Villa Montez is a lovely older home transformed into a fine-dining restaurant. We especially enjoy dining in the main room or on the patio because you are eating in the tree tops. If you order the chocolate cake for dessert, it is large enought to share... More

From the architecture to the decor, from the food to the service, this restaurant is 1st class yet the prices are very reasonable. Having dined there many times over the years, we have never been disappointed. This restaurant doesn't just hit the ball well, they seem to keep knocking it out of the park. Their Chimichurri Steak is a personal... More
