You get what you pay for

Interesting and tasty menu like Texas Skillet, Crab cake Benedict, Bacon and Cheddar stuffed waffles with eggs also homemade soups, salads and sandwiches. Always fresh tasting but have never gotten out of there for 2 people - entree and coffee or tea for less than $25 without the tip.

A bunch of waitresses at work but very few actually working. They were not busy when we got there. Waited and waited for a waitress to come take our drink order. I was finally able to flag one down and get some service. She was rude and hateful. I'm sorry you don't like your job. Took our order but didn't... More

Have dined here for lunch. The food is average. The service is average, servers are friendly but wait times for meals are inconsistent.

We dine at this Egg and I often as it's convenient to medical facilities we use. It's always crowded which is good for them but not so much for the diner if waiting staff is to busy to give adequate attention. The staff is very friendly and attentive as much as possible but once the check has been given... Two... More

Have eaten here 20+ times. Food is always very good. Service is prompt. Portions are generous. Coffee is excellent. This is our go to breakfast place. Very consistent.

I want to start by saying the service was fast and friendly. The food wasn't so great. I had biscuits and gravy because I had read a review that said the gravy was awesome. Well it's not even close to being good in my opinion. It was way to runny and not much flavor. My eggs were okay. Then there's... More

I visit family in Tyler every once in a while and always go to the Egg and I. I think that it is great. My favorite was the fried chicken omelette. BUT they have dropped it from the menu. So I have moved on to the Egg-Ceptional Omelette. Lots of calories but worth it.

I asked for a recommendation for a breakfast restaurant and was encouraged to go to The Egg and I. The food was okay, but we thought it was VERY overpriced. I had Wisconsin Skillet with sausage. The sausage seems to be spiced with rosemary, which I like, but I got terrible heartburn which may have been from the spices. The... More
