Just okay

The staff could care less if there was any one there or not. They seem only to be there to visit with each other. Used to go there more often because they had a Fabulous bartender who made the BEST dessert martini. I guess he found better job. Food average or not. Not consistent! I guess it... read more

If you want a nice, fresh salad, Sonoma Grille is a great choice. As our waiter mentioned, their menu consists of more salad choices than anything else. Some nice salad choices. My one complaint would be their lack of a good beer menu. They had only one craft brew available on the day we were there. Still, we'll go back... More

We wanted to eat somewhere new and hate to eat at chain joints. Nice laid back place but it seems the service was a little off. The beer selection could be better as well. We both had some type of shrimp and scallops dish which was quite good and the prices are about right. We will try it again and... More

Still in search of good dining in Tyler, and not finding it thus far. Service at Sonoma Grill was good all around. Ambiance was good. A nice dining experience by apparence and service. Wine selection was sparse, and cab was bitter. Combo appetizer was calamari that was light and with good cocktail sauce (good) combined with fried zuccini that was... More

Recently the owner has lost several of his best servers which is sad because they provided a level of food service that is sadly lacking now. The up side is that the menu is varied, and most choices are well prepared and tasty. The grilled chicken is the best I have ever had, well seasoned and grilled to perfection. Avoid... More

Sonoma was not quite up to its normal style or quality on a Tuesday night in January. Though the place was only about 1/3rd full and seemed to be flush with wait staff, service was slow, yet flirtatious. The burger was fatty and full of bites of gristle, or bone, I didn't really want to know the origin of the... More

Stopped in with a friend on a weeknight. This is a casual place, very laid back. Our waitress, Elizabeth was very attentive, and if I had any complaints it is that I felt we were a bit rushed. Started with a glass of wine, a chardonnay and a meritage, both of which were excellent. The special was blackened redfish, which... More

We enjoy dining at Sonoma Grille on a regular basis. My favorite lunch dishes include the Hazelnut Caprino Salad with Shrimp; and anytime the chef has trout as a lunch special, it's always wonderful. The lunch special is usually about $10! My favorite dinner options are the Shrimp and Scallops. I asked for it to be lightly seasoned. My other... More

We ate here after reading reviews and were extremely satisfied! We had Scott as a waiter and had excellent service. He was very friendly and attentive. My husband had steak, my son had a burger, and I had the Mediterranean Sonoma pasta. All three were great! Definitely give them a try!

We eat here after Church most Sundays. Salmon is hard to beat either Grilled or on a Salad. Specials and the Wedge Salad too. Usually no wait, give it a try.
