We went for breakfast. Food was good, very clean and fresh, not greasy at all. Service was good, staff was friendly. Atmosphere was busy, but enjoyable. We will be back and looking forward to trying the lunch menu.

Very impressive operation. Top staff and top food. From early breakfast to a great martini. I went back several times. Yesterday for lunch I had the best (plain the way I like them) burger outside of my home. I visited a total of three, including the Allen one in DFW: consistently top. They are scaling up. If they keep the... More

I really like the food here. My only complaint is ordering at the counter. So we sit at the bar and run a tab. Ask for off menu pot roast tacos. They are amazing.

I was visiting my daughter & her family and we decided to have breakfast at the Black Walnut Cafe. The coffee of the day was spectacular and my granddaughter enjoyed snitching the grapes and strawberries from my fruit cup. I had eggs benedict, which came out with a hard-boiled egg on the first go-round. They happily replaced my entire meal,... More

I love this place! Very complete breakfast menu with a twist here and there. I typically learn their mexican breafasst items (Huevos Mexicanos, Breakfast Migas, Breakfast Enchiladas) while my wife perfers the Veggie Omelet, Eggs Benedict or Breakfast Croissant Sandwich. They also have 3 different sizes of typical American Breakfasts with lots of choices.

Oh this place is the bomb!! It's a sit down place but not a wait for waiter/waitress kinda place. You go in, fall in line and order at the front. You are given a buzzer thing when your food is ready and you go pick it up yourself. Everything here is self-serve, which is great because you can potentially get... More

It was grrrrrreat! 😉 No really it was a short list on the menu. You go pick up your own food. The food is really good, what they have to pick from. Not many places to sit. Not many choices for younger children. The atmosphere is a coffee house gathering. It's a great place for couples, I don't necessarily recommend... More

My wife and I ate a light dinner here and had dessert. It's a nice facility, and the food was very good. Their dessert bar included about 10 flavors of gelato, which was a pleasant surprise. Ordering food can be a bit confusing, since there is a dessert island and a main food island and a bar. Just ask one... More

We stayed in The Woodlands for four days. We ate here three days in a row! Food was amazing! The service was better!!! The only bad side was it was hard to get a table but that's only because everything else was so awesome!!!

The Black Walnut is located off Research Forest in a retail area and can be a bit tricky to find the first time. It is a causal atmosphere where you order and pay at the counter, then pick up your food and take it to your table. They offer a nice selection of salads, sandwiches, pastas and a few other... More
