This restaurant purports to be "authentic Mexican food," but that doesn't tell us much. After all, not all authentic American, French, or Chinese food is necessarily good. I have eaten in some 20 countries, and the food varies in quality just as it does here at home. I found the offerings to be both very good and somewhat disappointing. It... More

Looked this place up, saw that they had limited hours so I called and asked if they were open on a Sunday. I told the lady who answered we were headed that way and she said, "Awesome, come on!" When we arrived, we found this place to be homey and the staff very friendly. We got the food and had... More

Great food. Friendly people. You wouldn't know it from the little ship mall they are located it, but this is a gem of a restaurant. Everything on the menu is tasty. The coffee is great, thick and creamy.

I absolutely love Viva Itacate. Some of the dishes may have familiar names - tacos, enchiladas - but they will not be what you expect. This is not Tex-Mex. The surprise is always good, though, with thoughtfully prepared, balanced dishes that leave you feeling refreshed afterward, not leaden or heavy. I've fallen in love with bocoles, which are small, very... More

An unassuming little restaurant in the corner of a strip center turned out to be quite a pleasant surprise! Some of the best pan dulce I have ever had - empanadas, cronuts (croissant donuts), chocolate and almond filled croissants and much, much more! Our lunch consisted of a torta with cochinita pibil and a cup of pozole. Both were absolutely... More

Great food and wonderful people. Yummy introduction to tamales and migas for our Canadian friend! We will go back.

Perry solid. Reminds me of a tearoom type place. More of a pastry place than restaurant it seems. It was a little awkward ordering. You order up front and get your own drink. Just a little differet. Overall very good food but didn't love the environment or service. I believe our waitress was new.

My girlfriend is in town and we wanted coffee and small pastry before heading over to stand in line at Corksrew BBQ. Walking in we were greeted by the owner who described every item in detail to us. From there we choose to split the cream cheese croissant and sausage and pepper quiche. After a delightful latte and breakfast treat... More

We recently stumbled upon this place and it has now become our Saturday brunch spot. The food is delicious, prices are reasonable, and the people are very friendly. They serve breakfast and lunch but also have great pastries. The first time we went, the manager took the time to go over every pastry in the display case: what it was... More
