Baked Pototoes

We eat here every so often. I had the appetizer a couple of times and it was too greasy for my taste. I always order the barbecue baked potato. A couple of times the meat was very fatty but other than that pretty good and filling. The staff has always been friendly and the inside is usually clean.

We were told by one of the locals that this was a great place for BBQ. We were also told not to go there between 11 and 1 as they are extremely busy during those hours. We arrived about 2pm to the wonderful BBQ aroma as we opened the door! This is not a fancy place, but the food is... More

Whenever I am in Texas City, this is where I go for lunch. The minute you walk in the door, the aroma hits you. The barbecue baked potato is my favorite. I don't need dinner after I have one of those. I've never had a bad meal here.

We go to Grand Prize BBQ about once a month. They usually have specials advertised on their sign outside. They include rib ÊTR steaks, ribs, and chicken. My very favorite is their BBQ potatoes. You get your choice of meat and fixings. This is a more than adequate meal. They also serve fresh baked jalapeño bread dail. Prices are reasonable... More

If you like barbeque, the smell of barbeque, the taste of barbeque, go to Grand Prize. The brisket very good, the cheesy in house bread great. They have a lot of choices from really good catfish to barbeque stuffed baked potato. All really really good. It is a hole-in-the-wall kind of place, not modern but clean. Don't let the appearance... Very good Texas BBQ, many locals come here for lunch. The stuffed baked potatoes could feed 2 easily. The brisket is nice and tender. A real nice sauce compliments all the meats and do not forget to pick up fixin's (pickles, sliced jalapenos and onions). The staff is always cheerful and place is kept clean.

Went here for lunch and ordered the chop beef sandwich Not really impressed the BBQ is ok not a big deal. There was more bread than the thin layer of meat that was put on the sandwich. It was more like flavored bread than a BBQ sandwich. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant was very clean.

This is a favorite bbq place. The atmosphere is nice. The employees are very friendly. Always clean. Reasonable prices. The giant stuffed bakef potatoes are awesome. Could ease up on the spice in the beans. Lower price desserts.

I have been blessed to live within driving distance to this stronghold of Texas BBQ for the last 14 years. When I lived in La Marque, it was right next door in Texas City, and now I am a regular at the Pasadena location. This is the only place I would pay for BBQ, Thanks and keep up the quality... More
