You can go to enjoy some beer and simple food. We had some BBQ - which was pretty nice. The place seems to be full of locals. We have enjoyed the atmosphere

that said, they were just beginning to serve food...and quality was poor cafeteria at best Again, bar is the success here---maybe amp up the bar food-- a road trip to neighboring Alpine where the Saddle Club has a brilliant bar + limited food thing going.. Terlingua is ripe for food...but it may have to come with Food Trucks, or really... More

La Kiva is closed due to the timely death of the long time owner. It was a really good restaurant featuring excellent Texas Red meats, as well as pasta to die for. the $1.50 margaritas will be missed. Hopefully La Kiva will live again.

Do you want glamorous? Then don't go to La Kiva. This is for those who unique, a bit grungy, REAL. Went there for New Year's Eve. Good drinks. Great band. People were friendly and very individualistic. I mean that positively. We had fun in this literal hole in the ground.

It is the weirdest bar I have ever been in. A really cool place. Great atmosphere, good food and drinks, and a fun place to hang out for an evening.

This was our first visit to La Kiva, but definitely not our last! From our first step down into La Kiva, our eyes followed the walls around this part-cave, part-Native American set of rooms, taking delight in the decor and ambiance! $2 draft beer and $2 wine, and a very reasonable menu. We opted for the all you can eat... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at La Kiva - so much so that we came back a second night. The only reason I have given them four stars instead of five is that the service was a little spotty, the wine list is comical (red or white), and they allow smoking. But if you're not in a hurry, are careful... More

Stopped in here after a long day driving to Big Bend Natl. Park. (who doesn't drive a long way to that place!!). Had pizza, brisket, and lasagna, as well as the stuffed jalapenos as an appetizer. Everything was hot and very tasty. Drinks were good, and we got there during happy hour, so they were cheap as well. The décor... More

Another unique Teralingua old hippy style establishment, with a bizarre history mixed up with real estate deals between Texans and Colorado. Ask for the story. Its partly underground with great view of the landscape from the huge (California redwood) table in the back room. We waited over an hour for our food (gives people time to drink from the bar),... This one of a kind place has been around a while. It has a full bar and cigarette smoke in the main area. The patio is great and it is fun to look at all the Wierd stuff outside. We loved the caprese salad with fresh basil and the margarita pizza. Amazing thin crust! Who would have thought! They are... More
