La Kiva is coming to the end of an extensive refurbishing with new kitchens and rest rooms being added. We expect to have the bar open by the 23rd of September or thereabouts. This is a unique bar often described as a cave bar. Not entirely accurate. Parts of the bar are underground and parts are partly underground. The inside is rock decorated with Indian artefacts and bones. The food is outstanding. There is music most nights. Karaoke on Tuesday, open mic on Wednesday and live music at the weekends. There is a tent camping area attached and in the process of being redeveloped (dry camping presently but we will change that as soon as possible). The RV area will be redeveloped later. Huge patio.

Ate here with a friend while touring Big Bend National Park on motorcycles. Had a ribeye steak. It was cooked perfectly. Very interesting bar and grill type of place in an underground cave with a rear exit to patio seating with live bands on the weekend.

You can go to enjoy some beer and simple food. We had some BBQ - which was pretty nice. The place seems to be full of locals. We have enjoyed the atmosphere

La Kiva is closed due to the timely death of the long time owner. It was a really good restaurant featuring excellent Texas Red meats, as well as pasta to die for. the $1.50 margaritas will be missed. Hopefully La Kiva will live again.

It is true that La Kiva is not open. We are doing extensive upgrades including new roof, new restrooms and a new kitchen. We will have an all new menu including vegetarian and gluten free offerings when we re-open in April of 2015. More

Do you want glamorous? Then don't go to La Kiva. This is for those who unique, a bit grungy, REAL. Went there for New Year's Eve. Good drinks. Great band. People were friendly and very individualistic. I mean that positively. We had fun in this literal hole in the ground.

It is the weirdest bar I have ever been in. A really cool place. Great atmosphere, good food and drinks, and a fun place to hang out for an evening.

This was our first visit to La Kiva, but definitely not our last! From our first step down into La Kiva, our eyes followed the walls around this part-cave, part-Native American set of rooms, taking delight in the decor and ambiance! $2 draft beer and $2 wine, and a very reasonable menu. We opted for the all you can eat... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at La Kiva - so much so that we came back a second night. The only reason I have given them four stars instead of five is that the service was a little spotty, the wine list is comical (red or white), and they allow smoking. But if you're not in a hurry, are careful... More

Stopped in here after a long day driving to Big Bend Natl. Park. (who doesn't drive a long way to that place!!). Had pizza, brisket, and lasagna, as well as the stuffed jalapenos as an appetizer. Everything was hot and very tasty. Drinks were good, and we got there during happy hour, so they were cheap as well. The décor... More

Another unique Teralingua old hippy style establishment, with a bizarre history mixed up with real estate deals between Texans and Colorado. Ask for the story. Its partly underground with great view of the landscape from the huge (California redwood) table in the back room. We waited over an hour for our food (gives people time to drink from the bar),...
