Great Experience. True classic Texas BBQ. Meat by the pound. Help yourself to drinks. The brisket was moist and very flavorful. The ribs were very good. I especially liked the setting. It was like stepping back into the Last Picture Show, but in color. The building itself is awesome and almost worth the visit.

The BBQ wasn't the best I've had, but it was really really good. The Beef Rib was amazing!! They are a little pricey, but big enough to share for sure. The brisket was good and moist. The Spare ribs had dry rub on them, it was good, but...different. My husband loves sausage, and said theirs was "o.k.". The banana pudding... More

I have eaten at many different barbecue joints around Austin, and this is my favorite so far. The sausage was snappy and juicy and spicy. The brisket was moist and delicious. The ribs were falling off the bone. Then there is the dessert! The peach cobbler is great, and the banana pudding is phenomenal. I can hardly wait to go... More

Nobody can justify those prices in that kind of "restaurant"... $5.50 for baked potato, $4 for small link of sausage?... $30-$40 for 'serve yoursel' lunch... very tasty food and busy place, but NOT worth the price!

If you are ever anywhere near the small town of Taylor Texas, Louie Mueller's Barbecue is a must. be prepared for the " not your usual " restaurant. Walk into the old smoke filled building that was once the families grocery store and get in line. Don't bother looking for trays or plates, your meal is served up by the... More

The historic Louie Mueller's Barbecue lives up to and exceeds it's reputation for GREAT barbecue. The moist brisket is by far my favorite, but nothing is bad there from the pork sliders-yum to the potato salad. The restaurant is a busy place, so the best time to get there is as soon as they open. They have a great catering... More

The B-B-Q was of course very good, maybe not as good as it used to be, but good. Unfortunately they have gone up in price since last time I was there. I don't know any sandwich that is worth nine dollars or 3 dollars for a small link. The best thing I had was the best value 2 sliders of... More

This BBQ mecca is consistently in the top 3-4 in Texas according to Texas Monthly Magazine. There are not superlatives to describe the meat here and I find it hard to believe there is better anywhere. this is truly BBQ holy ground. nothing fancy , smoked up walls and windows and a screen door, just excellent BBQ. brisket is fork... A weekday early lunch here recently did not disappoint. Having been here before with my wife, where we shared a beef rib, it was a no brainier to get another one. I added a link of sausage to go along with it. The sausage was great - a little spice to the original sausage with a nice snapping pop when... More

As you look at most of my reviews, you will see that I am sparing in my 5 star reviews. Louie Mueller's definitely earned that rating and in more than my opinion. Some background first, I am a native Texan, born in Dallas, the son of a native Texan, born in Giddings, Texas. My sons are all native Texans. Needless... More
