The Beef rib - a Texas BBQ icon

A weekday early lunch here recently did not disappoint. Having been here before with my wife, where we shared a beef rib, it was a no brainier to get another one. I added a link of sausage to go along with it. The sausage was great - a little spice to the original sausage with a nice snapping... read more

As you look at most of my reviews, you will see that I am sparing in my 5 star reviews. Louie Mueller's definitely earned that rating and in more than my opinion. Some background first, I am a native Texan, born in Dallas, the son of a native Texan, born in Giddings, Texas. My sons are all native Texans. Needless... More

The brisket was wonderful, if a little more expensive than other local joints -- melt in your mouth but with good bark and smoke. No sauce was needed. But the jalepeno sausage was a revelation. It's a haul for us to get to Taylor. But the sausage might be worth it.

OMG! The atmosphere is perfect, small-town, Texas! There is no air conditioning, but open screened in, old-timey, Texas! The ribs are TO. DIE. FOR. The sausage is good and the brisket is great! The peach cobbler with ice cream is some of the best you'll find in the state! A must visit! You will not regret it!

After reading all the article on Louie Mueller's I've had a trip to Taylor on my BBQ bucket list. The Moist Brisket is awesome and the Jalapeño sausage is fantastic too. The whole Family give it two thumbs up !

My son took me to Louie Mueller's for Father's Day and my wife and I returned here today. Both visits were lunch visits. Where do I begin. Their signature entree is the smoked beef "short" rib. What a wat to misname something. Our "short" rib today weighed nearly 1-1/2 lb. when I went with my son we each got one... More

Words don't give this brisket justice. This was by far the best BBQ I've ever had in my life and that's not hyperbole by any means. The brisket alone is worth the trip from anywhere you can name and it just melts in your mouth; I could easily eat a pound of it by myself. The sausage was also really... More

Mr. Mueller, My first reservation is that you are concerned about an employee you deny working for you, then that her opinion of the food made where she supposedly didn't work according to you, as a general employee, is of such concern to you? Credibility? I had just met the woman when I moved here years ago. If you deny... More

This is one heckofaplace. I've heard about it and read about it and seen it on TV. Decided to veer off the beaten path on a trip to Austin and make the effort to drive to Taylor. Glad I did. We had sliced brisket and a smoked beef short rib. Both outstanding. All I can say is that everything you've... More

Taylor is a original old small Texas town and Mueller's is a peculiar restaurant there. It is the kind of sensation of being in an old western movie because the building is decadent but has its style!!! The food is really good and the brisket is moisture as it should be. I also ordered the baby back ribs and it... More
