Definitely Worth the Drive

After seeing LMB's Barbecue on the Food Network and getting the highest of comments from a best friend, we decided to make the trip to Taylor, TX for some great barbecue. Well it was definitely worth it! The place is pretty much in it's original condition but that just adds to the charm. We... read more

Most people have their favorite BBQ joint. Me (and my family), well we basically love all BBQ. We live in Kansas City and get to eat it a lot, but Louie Mueller's is some of the best we've had. We stopped in right after they opened on a Sat. morning (10am). By 10:30am there was already a line. We shared... More

Located in the small town of Taylor TX; Muellers has in operation since 1946! The current location is a large smokehouse with soot-black walls where the smell of finely cooked meet permeates the atmosphere. Their smoked meats are excellent! My friends and I had a great guys lunch and drove home trying to figure out how soon we could come... More

I'm writing this review at risk of my local folks scorn, but I call it as I experience it. I'm a long time Taylor resident and have eaten at LMB MANY times. Despite all the supposed accolades and very valid history of this establishment, I will say that I am a 7th generation Texan and have eaten the finest and... More

Thank you Rooster for your review. I would first like to say that you may want to see what else you ex-neighbor is pulling beside your leg. We have never had any female work at our establishment for 15 years and the last person to have that length of tenure with our restaurant retired in 1986. That being said, I... More

I drove the 20 miles to Taylor because I wanted to visit this DDD restaurant. It is a quant old "dive" but the atmosphere is quite endearing. That being said, the food was delicious. I had the brisket sandwich and I ate so slowly because I wanted to savor every bite. I also had the original black Angus sausage which... More

This is an ancient country store style building. It's throughly saturated with smoke -- and you will be too after you leave. The meat is wonderful. I've had both the brisket & the beef rib. The beef rib is a huge chunk of meat attached to a large section of cow rib! yum!!! You order at the counter. The food... More

Great place to get BBQ. Lines are usually long but the meat is tender and tasty. I like more choices for sides but if you are looking for simple down home BBQ this is the place to go.

We arrived at 5:30 pm and closing time is 6p- staff was still very hospitable and eager to serve us. They were out of brisket, but we got chopped beef...dry (perhaps due to how late in the day?) and needed BBQ sauce. Original sausage was just OK. The side dishes (beans, potato salad and slaw) were hugely bland. The BBQ... More

We stopped in on our way through, actually changed our route just so that we could try it. When you walk in it's smoky, has wooden floors, tables and chairs. Once you order the guy with cut up your portions right there in front of you so you know its fresh. I've read reviews where people complained it was too... More

Getting there early is good, but if you can't, and the line is out the door, it's worth the wait. The line will move fast enough to get you ready to enjoy great bbq. I love looking at the old building features and the town itself is worth a drive around.
