Good Texas BBQ

to me this is the quintessential Texas roadhouse BBQ joint. When I walked in I thought I was back in the 70s! Barrel shaped, rawhide covered chairs surround likewise rawhide covered tables. Order & pickup at the window. I had the brisket sandwich, which was tender, flavorful and moist, with just... read more

This restaurant is actually pretty good. Nice people and great food. But only flaw is the restaurant is never open and closed earlier than any other restaurant in Sweetwater.

Sorry that we were not "open" when you came by. The BBQ business is a little different than other restaurants. My wife and myself are still the only cooks, so, being open more is more difficult. Our days are Wednesday thru Saturday , from 11:00 to 8:00. I get to work between 4:300 and 5:00 on those mornings and close... More

The brisket sandwich was really good. They use a bun that was sweet and the brisket was very tender. Coleslaw was a little bland but the Potato salad was well seasoned.

We were traveling through Sweetwater around lunchtime and searched TripAdvisor for BBQ. Big Boy's had the best rating so we stopped by - and loved it. The brisket, sauce, slaw, and key lime pie were delicious and service Texas friendly. Highly recommend it! Easy access for I-20 travelers.

Really great bbq sauce. Ribs were cooked just right. You can skip the beans & potato salad as they not much to write about. Do get a piece of cornbread as that is good. Buns very good on the chopped beef. I stop again on the next trip to Sweetwater

My family needed a place to eat lunch while coming home vacationing in New Mexico. This is a great place to stop and grab a quick bite. The prices are kind of high, but due to the drought in Texas beef prices have gone through the roof. We enjoyed a brisket sandwich for $8.50. The brisket was cooked to perfection... More

Brisket was very good. Cole slaw and potato salad were average. Beans were amazing. Everything is eaten on plastic so if that bothers you don't go. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because it is pricey and I don't think you should have to clean your own tables if you are paying that much for bar... More

I ate at this place by accident and it turned out to be a wonderful mistake. The brisket wasn't overpowered with smokiness and was the most tender I had ever eaten. I had to buy more to eat later since I don't live there. If you travel to Sweetwater you must try this place!
