Established in 1999, Grapevine Café’s original owners created a simple restaurant offering breakfast and lunch favorites from traditional Mexican and American recipes. Under new ownership since 2006, the Grapevine Café has grown considerably in concurrence with the beautiful and surrounding city of South Padre Island, Texas. In many ways, we are still that casual eatery that serves delicious, simple and affordable food. Today, our menu boasts a greater variety of choices. We have added healthier menu items that are vegetarian and gluten free. We also offer a full line of gourmet, freshly ground coffee drinks and teas from our popular espresso bar. We take great pride in serving food that is made in-house, fresh and daily from proprietary, authentic recipes.

Breakfast before 11am

I had to ask around about a nice place to have breakfast at 9am since most dine in restaurants open after 11am. Well, I was told of a place called Grape Vine Cafe. Upon arrival I noticed it was full because it took a while to find a parking spot. The waiting was a bit long and it wasn't too... read more

This cafe has amazing service and delicious food. While there is sometimes a wait for a table, it's definitely worth it!

Good portions, fair prices, great service, and excellent flavor. They have traditional and unique menu items. This is our favorite breakfast/lunch place on the island.

Recently ate breakfast at the Grapevine. Enjoyed the waffles, and we also tried chicken fried chicken for breakfast. It was very good. Coffee is very good and they appear to do onsite roasting. Service was fair. That is why I gave them a 4.

This place is phenomenal. Coffee menu with lots of choices which included organic and fair trade coffee. We had mimosas and their delicious homemade tortillas, among other things. All of it was really good and very well priced. Carlos was our server and was very friendly and did an amazing job. We'll definitely be back.

We went there for the first time and the food and service were the best. Prices are also reasonable.

Very mediocre breakfast. Eggs fried in grease giving the food an unpleasant taste. Biscuits over cooked and stale. Would not return or recommend. Skip this place. Servers were so busy visiting with each other, they didn't have time to take care of customers.

Mary, I am truly sorry about your subpar experience. I truly apologize. In the event of a less than acceptable experience, I like to take the opportunity to learn from it and make necessary corrective actions. Can you tell me what day you visited and tell me about your server. I know it a lot to ask, but it would... More
