"The gastropub movement is well-represented on South Padre Island at Padre Island Brewing Company. Rotating draft selections include several styles of handcrafted suds; Texas Long Board Lager, Tailing Red Amber, and Speckled Trout Stout are among my favorites, when available. If you can’t make up your mind, get the “Sampler Tray,” a tasting of all five beers currently on tap. The menu is extensive—“peel and eat” shrimp, spicy wings, and fried calamari are popular appetizers, as are the chips-and-guacamole combo, ceviche, and nachos. The bar has won an award for its pizza, but I recommend the burgers. If you’re really hungry, order the Texas Burger, a double-patty, one-pound monster topped with jalapenos, mushrooms, and cheese. From the seafood menu, beer-battered shrimp is an obvious choice, and the tuna and flounder are also excellent." From Texas Highways Magazine, June 2015

Delicious fish!

Visited this fine establishment last week. Glad I did. Members of my party ordered the fried fish, and they said it was incredible. They compared it to Wisconsin Friday Night Fish-Fry's (which are the best)). My burger was very good. The light beer was also very tasty! thanks again!

We have been coming here yearly for 20+years and it is beginning to show its age. Interior is grimy and old. Tables sticky and rickety. Beer signs and T-shirts for sale on display are old an unexciting. The food was fried and pricey, beer was warm and service slow and uninterested. It's ok for watching sports and drinking at the... Kind of noisy inside but food is decent and the home brewed beer was very good. While we got burgers and a fish/shrimp/oyster basket that were all delicious, the pizza looked awsome! Maybe next time.

Stopped for a beer and burger. Noise ruined experience for us. Burger was ok but nothing to return for.

Finding the Brewery was so much fun. We were warmly greeted, then seated and then given a very thorough briefing on the beers they brew. We ordered the sample tray and all four of us had different favorites. The Tidal Wave Wheat was my favorite, not too hoppy and full of flavor. An appetizer of Calamari disappeared almost as quickly... More

Went to Padre Island Brewing for beer and appetizers. Both were great. My husband really liked the winter ale. This brewery has been on the island over 20 years, and the quality of the beer is great! Also great service.

Their BBQ chicken pizza is great. Clean and friendly service. Fish baskets were also good. Lots of draft beers on tap.

We enjoyed crispy calamari and some brews. Afterwards, we had some shrimp ceviche, which was fresh and delicious. The service is quick and courteous.

We had no idea the brewery existed. What a great surprise. We had the sampler and really enjoyed it. The bartender was very friendly and the rest of the staff was too. It is e great place.

Enjoyed a stout and a porter. We started out at another spot that did not have craft beers. We left and found this spot. Really comfortable atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff. Stayed for the appetizers and enjoyed the crab stuffed mushrooms and calimari.
