Great Island Atmosphere

We've visited SPI for years but finally went to Parrot Eyes, a water sports area on the bay side of the island. We checked out the restaurant (liked the look of the indoor area but chose to sit outside by the docks). I loved the feel of the outside dining area for relaxing, enjoying the sun, the... read more

We went just for appetizers and dessert the day we arrived. All we could eat was the appetizer. It was big enough for the whole meal and had some of the best guacamole I've ever had.

Had fish taco's which are THEE best for lunch! And had a blackened shrimp salad another time that I couldn't even finish. The shrimp had pepper sprinkled on the outside but had not been cooked properly. The lettuce tasted as if it was out of a bag, and I got the bottom of the bag. This is produce time in... More

We enjoyed hanging out here having drinks & visiting with the guest, nice watching the water activities and all the birds too. Wait staff did a great job, restrooms were all cleaned. Good time had by all :)

If i were grading Parrot Eyes on the food & service, I'd give it a 4 star rating. On good days, with a sunset off the back deck, it would get 6 Stars (I know, the ratings only go to 5). Their fish tacos, as well as shrimp or oyster variety are all very good. Make sure to order with... More

Had dinner here for our last night on the island. Had a guy playing guitar who was very good. Good service and good food.

We have just had the opportunity to get to know Ron and Virginia, owners of Parrot Eyes. Great people that run a very unique restaurant and water sport facility. We got an annual pass to launch our kayak at their ramp for a small fee. The ramp and parking are very convenient and the restaurant is a fabulous place to... More

We ate at this restaurant after 4 p.m. when the lunch menu prices change quite a bit. My wife had a chicken dinner which she said was ok. She asked to substitute green beans for cole slaw which they did but then charged me for the cole slaw. I had ground serloin which was served with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes... More

By far the best place for water sports on the island. We took jet skis out for an hour. It was awesome! You can tell safety is a priority with them. We booked in advance and practically had the place to ourselves. Ate fish tacos on the deck afterwards. Great place!

We've been coming here for 3 years, and it has always been very good, this year was no exception. In the afternoon, or for a sunset, if it's sunny, the outdoor elevated patio is a great spot for lunch, or just have a few drinks overlooking the canal/waterway. The menu has many choices, so all should find something they like.... More
