We were so glad that we gave this restaurant a try. The food is very very goodand the prices were reasonable. The owner is the one who greets you at the door and seats you. I have read other reviews where the owner wasn't able to accommodate large groups and was rude to the customers. I can tell you that... More

The food was really great, so was our waiter, but to us the food was over priced, and no mixed drinks on an Island restaurant didn't make since to us. The food being so good but the portions does not fit the prices, easy fix and I think Cap'n Roy's could run with the best of them. Oh and putting... More

I heard wonderful things about this place, tried to stop in for dinner with my family, and to be fair we had a rather large group. We walked in just to see how long the wait might be, we were told, and i quote, "my god! I have 25 people waiting right now and it is just not going to... More

My wife and I went here on a recommendation. We had been to several other places on our South Padre trip, but were left a bit disappointed. Cap'nRoy's did not disappoint at all! This place is not a churn and burn client resturant. The owner greeted us and seated us. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was perfect for... More

We were not even able to get through the door, and an employee told us that our party of 9 would not work. He told us "you are coming at me at 0730 on a Friday night, it's not gonna happen" I have never experienced anything ruder in my life. So if you have a party larger than 4 don't... More

I came to Cap N Roys for lunch yesterday based on the 87% reviews. Service was great. The waitress was on top of having our drinks full (important for me) and gave advice on the menu. For a restaurant that is in a beach setting, I would have expected VERY fresh seafood. When I travel to beach locales, I expect... More

Not sure about the standard food because we prefer to order the house specialty here - the camarones diabloitas which are shrimp with bacon, jalapeño, cream cheese and delicious sauce that are grilled - not fried. So delicious. The fumi salad is crisp and unique - not a boring side salad. The owner works there greeting and seating customers and... More

I'm pretty sure that Cap'n Roy greeted us at the door. The restaurant is quite small and extremely casual. It was full but luckily there was a table for two left. If you have to wait for a table, plan on waiting outside because there is no room to wait inside. I chuckled to myself as we approached our table... More
