Stopped in for lunch during road trip. Maybe a mile or 2 from the interstate. And worth the drive! We ordered pizza, nachos, and a chicken sandwich. Buns oversized and soft. Pizzas hot and fresh. Chicken nachos delicious. Not a lot of chicken on them - but perfectly flavored. Sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine. Someone had their dog along... More

Pockets offers a good variety of selections for lunch. We've eaten there several times and the pizza is especially good

This is the place to go if you want a good original burger and seasoned fries! Nice atmosphere, clean and friendly place! There is other good food served also...pizza, hot dogs, etc and it's all worth stopping in and sampling!

We've been to Pockets several times, and always enjoyed the food. The food was still good....it was the cleanliness of the place. The tables were not cleaned after folks left, then when I saw one of the young ladies cleaning a table, she just wiped the crumbs, etc. on the floor. After looking at the floor, it is obvious that's... More

Wide variety of food. Our party ordered five different menu items and they were all good. Fried jalapenos made for a great appetizer!

First off the food was pretty decent. But the whole drama involving a $50.00 bill issued by my Credit Union back home was just over the top. The bill came out to 25.00 and change I handed her a $50.00 and she swiped it three times with a pen it was yellow on the left and as she dragged it... More

So I've always wanted to stop in Smithville because one of my favorite movies, "Hope Floats" was filmed there. Finally, driving between Austin and Houston we stopped and I was sooo excited to see some of the scenes from the movie including the house, downtown, etc. Well, the town itself didn't really impress, there was nothing to see or do.... A group of ladies on our way home from Salado, Texas, stopped here for lunch. Although we had no personal recommendation - we chanced it. Turns out it was great! Cute Place - Good Food! Close to Hwy 71 - so if you are in between Houston & Austin at eating time - Try It. You will be glad you... More

My wife and I were on a road trip through the Hill Country today and was looking for a resturant our niece worked at in Smithville. We were told the name and could not find it anywhere. We stopped at a local visitors center to ask for directions. It was closed, but we ran into Troy the owner of Pockets.... More

On two occassions in the past month my wife, Jan, has brought me home the other half of a Chicken Salad Sandwich that she could not finish. Excellent taste and bountiful portion. This past Sunday I also got a container of Potato Soup which was super. Keep it up. Thanks.
