Great food for a great cause! We shared a juicy cheeseburger, and a crepe. Both were delicious. They are open for breakfast and lunch and close mid-afternoon. While we ate we had our car washed. Both are by donations. No prices are on the menu.

I am a big breakfast guy and had heard this place did a nice job. I have eaten breakfast here 2 consecutive mornings and found their reputation to be well deserved. One morning I had their Florentine Scramble and the next their Special (eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast). Both times the food was promptly served and tasty. Something to be... More

The food was wonderful and they take donations for the food. The money you pay goes to a very good cause.

I'm so glad we stopped here on our way from Austin to Houston. We decided to give it a chance because of the fabulous reviews on T.A. The food was just as good as my grandma's on Sunday afternoons! My hubs had the Sunday lunch special: chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. I had one of their... More

Wonderful cozy place. The premise behind the concept of the café is just wonderful. Definitely recommend.

We were on a weekend getaway & stumbled on this restaurant. The food was very obviously prepared fresh. Our waiter was a bit rough around the edges. But very attentive & appreciative. Then we learned that this was a cafe with a mission to save people from addiction. Then we totally understood & were even more impressed. We liked that... More

If you are spending some time in Smithville, wander over to the Comfort Cafe. They have this beautiful patio with fountains, wisteria, and a stage for a band, and lots of shade [key point in the summer!]. The staff is very nice and the food is wonderful. If you are planning ahead, there are yoga classes next door so this... More

Where ever you are, it is worth the drive to Smithville for the best breakfast around. I had the Texas Benny which is a genius of an idea. Grilled biscuit, sausage patty, egg, and jalapeno cream sauce. Also had a peanut butter chocolate brownie that was out of this world. And besides having the best darn food, they are a... More

I love the Comfort Cafe! For breakfast, brunch, or lunch, I love gathering with friends at the Comfort Cafe. The food is always fresh and wonderfully made. I'm torn between the burgers, the omelets and scrambles, and the mouth-watering chicken curry salad. Is the decor fancy? No. In fact it looks a lot like any small town cafe--mismatched tables and...
