"One of a Kind in Cost"

The first time I visited, I appreciated the concept of a donation-based restaurant that is run by an organization working with recovering addicts. Having said that, I would not have returned if the food and service had not been excellent. They have a creative and fun menu, and their staff is genuinely friendly and professional. No question that the place... More

I'm not aware of all the details of the organization that is behind this operation, but the opportunity it is providing for their employees is a great model for other communities to implement for those in need of a chance to get back on their feet with the support they receive from patrons & the establishment. All the meals are... More

This restaurant has a very interesting premise, as the only donation based cafe in Texas. All the proceeds go to Serenity Star and the prices are a suggested donation of $10 per meal. All the waitstaff are part of the program and are very friendly. They have a small kitchen, so don't come when you need a quick meal. They... More

The service was very personable. The food is gourmet quality and served with class. Not listed on the menu is their always delicious suprise dessert. (Sometimes I eat dessert first!) The cost is a non-issue as it is on a donation request. They suggest a $10/person but I usually give more to help their worthy cause of helping destitute folks... More

We were very happy that this place was recommended to us. The food is great and the purpose of the restaurant is great. I've never eaten at a place like this before. The cost is donation only. They recommend $10 per person (+tip) but you can give as much or as little as you want to.The proceeds go to a... More

This restaurant doesn't have set charges, but lets you pay as you see fit. Proceeds go to a recovery program called Serenity Star. Those that work at the restaurant are either in the program or have family members in the program. Magic happens.

Recommended by the waitress at The Front Room. Donations only. Sat on the patio for a lazy Sunday breakfast. Great music from DJ. Staff very friendly, food delish. Happily substituted for us. Very pleasant atmosphere throughout. We made sure to show our appreciation for the entire experience and help support a good cause.

So why aren't there more places like this? My wife had the Asian salad and declared it delicious. I had the Texas Heat Burger and it was one of the best hamburgers I've ever had. If I had a complaint it would be that the menu should warn that the hamburger is huge. I also had a plate of the... More

Great selection of food. Breakfast all day. I had the Curry Chicken Salad and it was divine! Attentive service. Bring cash or have checks in hand they don't do credit cards.
