They are now closed on Sundays. The pies are wonderful and many selections to pick from. Although friends suggested the tortillas, they are machine made, not hand-made.
Not only is this the best bakery within 100 miles - thumbprint cookies and vanilla wafers are my favorites - it's a great little sandwich shop. Worth a 50 round trip from Lubbock.

If you're looking for cookies or cakes, the Slaton Bakery won't let you down. I recommend their red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, or the famous chocolate thumbprint cookies.

Advertised as the thumbprint cookie capital of Texas. I will support that title. This was a quaint little bakery that had many good baked treats to choose from. We naturally got a dozen thumbprints for the road and another dozen of chocolate chips with raisins, pecans, and oatmeal cookies.
