Palmers Restaurant is very upscale

Your choice to sit inside or outside on their patio with a beautiful fountain. The food is very good. We had one of the group rooms it was very nice and the servers were vey good. The steaks did not come out right with about 4 people however, it is hard to cook steak for a big group ang trying... read more

I visited Palmer's with a large group (17-18) for a work-related event. We were seated at two 10-top tables that were side by side towards the back of the restaurant. The person in charge of the group ordered several appetizers for both tables, including calamari, crab cakes, chicken strips and queso, and everything was excellent. For my meal, I had... More

This was my first time to eat at Palmers. We went there so we could eat outside. They have a really nice outdoor eating area. That day the bees were so bad we had to move inside. But the food was worth staying for. I'll be back here again.

Don't let Palmer's quant patio fool you; the food is maybe the worst we have ever experienced. The "crafted" Mexican Martini, burger, crab cakes, and Caesar salad were overpriced and made with low quality ingredients. The crab cakes came out cold with the rest of the meal and had to be returned. It took another 20-30 minutes to get them... More

We stopped here for lunch. It was too cool to sit outside on the patio so we went inside. There was a slight mildew smell at first inside..maybe because it had been raining for the last three weeks. The menu had some seafood appetizers and a lunch menu that had several choices. I had the spinach salad with chicken, grilled... More

My wife and I stopped off for lunch at Palmers after scuba diving at Aquarena Springs. I had not been to Palmers in several years but had memories of many enjoyable meals there. This time it was somewhat dissppointing. My tortilla soup came lukewarm and had to be sent back to the kitchen to be reheated. The half of a... More

We were able to enjoy the Courtyard area because the weather was so nice. Tableside guacamole was delicious. And recommend the Chocolate bread pudding.

Unfortunately San Marcos is not overrun with good restaurants as I guess they cater more for the student population. This is probably the most upscale restaurant around and they do have a fabulous patio area, but the food is at best, average. The appetizers and salads are all huge and should be shared between at least 2 people. For entrees,... More

My bf and I came for my birthday dinner to palmers. I wasn't impressed. I had the pecan crusted chicken, asparagus, and some type of mashed potatoes. The waiter didn't have any knowledge of the wine selections. I will come back only because everyone speaks so well of this place. The outside patio looks lovely. But the inside has vey... More

Palmer's has been around for decades and is certainly one of the fanciest restaurants in the city. I've eaten here many times over the years and tends to be one of my recommendations for taking out of town guests to dinner. Because of the variety and quality of the food on the menu, there is something for everyone regardless of... More
