Palmer's is a classy old style place with indoor and outdoor seating, Drinks are large and plentiful. Food has a New Orleans based style and flavor. Noise levels are quiet and atmosphere is great for dining.

Stopping to eat lunch with my cousin, he chose the place. The garden courtyard by the parking lot is very pleasant to wait or dine. Since it was hot, we chose to eat inside. Interesting layout of dining rooms and bar had various architectural features from various styles: old west saloon, to ranch style very like some Frank Lloyd Wright... More

First time to visit and had a wonderful experience. We were in a private room for approximately 75 ppl. Only complaint was the noise level became exceptionally loud in that room. But let's talk food...I had the honey habanero glazed pork chops. Very good, very tender and the glaze was so good I tried to buy some in Wimberley while... More

This is the first time for us and we will be back. The atmosphere is great. Old west kind of feel. But the best part was the meal. I had the sirloin and it is one of the most tender I have ever had. It just melted in my mouth. My wife had the salmon and the herbs they cooked... More

In late August I had a business dinner at Palmers. My compatriot, a banker explained her local banker considers it the best place to eat in San Marcos for a business dinner. Lots of wood paneling but not intimidating. Very friendly. The mixed grill was excellent. It even came with a cheese stuffed sausage that was quite good. I would... More

First time visit and I will definitely be back. The food was delicious especially the Hatch Chile Mac n Cheese. My husband had the ribeye and I had Ensalada del Fuego, both were delicious. My husband also loved the Texas brews on tap. Our waitress Kelsey was very friendly and accommodating.

Our dinner group of 16 people decided to try Palmer's as we wanted to experience something new. We were all impressed the quality of service for such a large group. The staff did an excellent job getting food to the entire group in a timely manner. Also, the food choices were varied enough to satisfy every member in our party.... More

We visited there for the first time during move-in day at campus. It was too warm that day to dine outside in the beautifully landscaped courtyard area, but we will be returning to try that too. Our service was excellent and so was our meal. I was especially impressed with their queso and guacamole appetizer, but our salads and main... More

My husband and I have been coming to Palmer's for over thirty years and have always enjoyed it, but it has never been as good as it has become since being taken over by Monte Sheffield a few years ago. The ambience, food, and service are top shelf; and we especially appreciate Monte's dedication to going local.

Took a group there for dinner after a conference. Everyone was happy with their meal. Beef was excellent. Very tender and properly cooked as ordered. Fried catfish not overcooked, thank goodness. Only disappointment was bread pudding which had chocolate chips in it for heaven's sake. Just not right. Service attentive and smooth.
