Took a group there for dinner after a conference. Everyone was happy with their meal. Beef was excellent. Very tender and properly cooked as ordered. Fried catfish not overcooked, thank goodness. Only disappointment was bread pudding which had chocolate chips in it for heaven's sake. Just not right. Service attentive and smooth.

We visited San Marcos on a weekday and were referred to Palmer's by friends. Our daytrip resulted in a long hot one, but Palmer's Restaurant started it right. We were greeted and seated promptly and served a delicious lunch with drinks from the bar. The atmosphere was nice, low-key and quiet. I would recommended this place to others and plan... More

After many years away from San Marcos it was good to see that Palmer's is still here. We stopped by on a beautiful Sunday. The courtyard would have been a great place to eat but noticed the outside dining furniture was the iron kind. No cushions or pads so we decided to eat in. I don't care for the decor... More

While planning a short trip to Austin and San Marcos, I read the reviews for Palmer's. According to our schedule we could make it for brunch on Sunday. We got there at 10:05 Fortunately the weather cooperated and we had an unusually low humidity, low 70's delicious brunch in the lovely shaded courtyard. My favorite: Crab Cake Palmer with roasted... We stopped by Palmers while visiting in San Marcos. Sat out on the beautiful patio area. Service was great and the tableside quacamole was awsome. Everything ordered was all fresh and tasty. Will definately be back!

With quite a crowd for a midweek early evening in San Marcos, Palmer's is obviously not a secret with tourists. The food and service was very good, and the drink specials were a bargain. Great atmosphere, nice clientele, and a pleasant place in San Marcos for dinner.

Whenever I'm in San Marcos I always try to hit Palmer's. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is romantic. The prices have gone up a bit over the past few years but that's the only thing I can say negatively. I've always felt welcomed at Palmer's.

We enjoyed hosting a birthday dinner here. The hostesses and wait staff were very pleasant and helpful. This wasn't our first visit, and I always enjoy looking out the old pane windows onto the beautiful courtyard. We started the meal with table-side guacamole and calamari. Both were fresh and prepared vey well. Dinner salads were great. Entrees ordered included crab... More

About a month ago a friend wanted to take me out for my birthday. We decided to go to Palmers. the decor was elegant and I looked forward to a special meal. There was a crowd outside but not inside. We waited about 45 minutes for our order. I had ordered eggs benedict on pulled pork. My friend ordered something... More

We have been going to Palmers for years and have never had a bad experience. Great steaks and seafood. Friendly atmosphere and terrific bar. Some items a bit pricey but worth the money. Try it. You will not be disappointed
