Whenever I'm in San Marcos I always try to hit Palmer's. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is romantic. The prices have gone up a bit over the past few years but that's the only thing I can say negatively. I've always felt welcomed at Palmer's.

We enjoyed hosting a birthday dinner here. The hostesses and wait staff were very pleasant and helpful. This wasn't our first visit, and I always enjoy looking out the old pane windows onto the beautiful courtyard. We started the meal with table-side guacamole and calamari. Both were fresh and prepared vey well. Dinner salads were great. Entrees ordered included crab... More

About a month ago a friend wanted to take me out for my birthday. We decided to go to Palmers. the decor was elegant and I looked forward to a special meal. There was a crowd outside but not inside. We waited about 45 minutes for our order. I had ordered eggs benedict on pulled pork. My friend ordered something... More

We have been going to Palmers for years and have never had a bad experience. Great steaks and seafood. Friendly atmosphere and terrific bar. Some items a bit pricey but worth the money. Try it. You will not be disappointed

Service was terribly slow. Food was average. Didn't have to wait to get a table. Sat outside in nice environment. Service was terrible. Food was over priced for the quality.

My husband and I go to Palmer's when we head out to the hill country. We love the ambiance, the food, and the service. So much so that I always make it a point to fill out their comment card to make sure our server gets recognition from the manager. This place does not disappoint. We highly recommend it! We... More

Lucky to have found Palmer's during a family outing. Another restaurant with "Root" in it's name was not able to seat a disabled family member! Palmer's had good food, fantastic service and an excellent attitude toward disabled and is ADA compliant. :-)

It was good. The wine was decent. Service was very good. I liked the cheese platter appetizer. It had been raining so we couldn't sit outside, but they have a lovely garden.

We enjoyed the close proximity to our inn, and the food was good. They actually chose a cozy little nook for our romantic dinner. Nice!

This restaurant looks like it is in the Deep genteel South. The garden gate opens to a winding brick path lined by shrubbery and overlapped by an old oak tree. The restaurant was established in a house, and on display are magazines and books from the homeowner. Additionally, they feature original paintings by local artists which are for sale. The... More
