Good food, great atmosphere

Good traditional Tex-Mex, old-fashioned hacienda decir, reasonably priced. Beats the heck out of the national chains, of course, but it's right at the top with the local guys too. Chicken enchiladas verdes and enchiladas Suissas are our favorites.

Good Tex-Mex. The bakery was fabulous- so we ordered flan as dessert- it was so fresh and delicious. Best flan from a restaurant that we have tried.

This place takes me back to the sixties, especially when the strolling mariachi play. The atmosphere is traditional, as seems to be the clientele and the offerings. The food is all good, tasty, nicely presented, moderately priced. Staff are very nice. The adjoining panadaria (bakery) has more offerings than you can believe (grandkids' favorite). You'll love this place. It's in... More

Fresh and hot. Cooked to perfection. The tortillas are homemade and the eggs were perfectly cooked. Atmosphere nice. Too much construction in the area so parking is a pain but darn well worth it!

We stopped by Casa Maria nightly to pick up sweet treats and they were wonderful. Everything is homemade and displayed in this huge glass case. Extremely reasonable in price and we choose 3 different items nightly and then a couple extra so we could try different items. The staff was nice and helpful but not fluent in English which made... I wish the taters would have been cooked more as well as the eggs. I asked for over medium and they arrived still very runny. I left over half my food. On the upside, the place is very conveniently located.

On the weekends, be prepared for a wait. We waited 30 minutes for a 9:30pm sitting. Super popular place among the locals. Very reasonably priced. Large restaurant with its own wonderful bakery. Various Mariachi bands playing throughout the evening. Enjoyable music but quite loud….so if looking for a quiet romantic restaurant, this is not the place. The food. What I... More

...but a great surprise. We had a great meal in a busy/happening atmosphere. Our server was very attentive (with a completely full section). Reasonably priced and very good. Totally agree with others on the green salsa !

Enchiladas were a favorite among our selection. The pico was fresh and delicious as were the chips. The chips were not greasy. Restrooms were clean and service was delivered with a smile. The only negative was the rice which arrived cool versus warm.

This is my favorite Mexican food restaurant in San Marcos. The salsas are great, especially the green one that is super spicy. I love their breakfast tacos. The tortillas are homemade and great.
