stopped in for breakfast ......My wife had an omelette (ham, bacon & cheese) that was very good. I had huevos rancheros and it was also very good! I thought the salsa red and green were also very good! I love mexican style breakfast if it is good and this place is good! If we are ever in the area around lunch... More

I've been here numerous times because a) they have my three favorites for breakfast tacos ( barbacoa, chicharones and al pastor) and b) the service is excellent. I might add a c) in there today...they were open on Labor Day! The tacos are just a wee bit skimpier than some places, but bigger than a few places I've gone. They... More

It's rare to find Mexican food that's not full of flavor. Unless you're eating at Casa Maria. You'll notice it right away, when your server brings the chips and salsa to your table. The salsa is very, very spicy but lacks the taste of fresh tomatoes, cilantro and onion. The queso obviously comes out of a can, no need to... More

My husband ordered chicken enchiladas and free shrimp shells came with his entrée. I ordered a Skinny margarita, there were not prices on the drink menu; the margarita was $11.00 and I could not taste any alcohol...are you kidding me. The tortilla chips tasted like Tostitos and we like the restaurants that fry their own. The Salsa was passable. our... More

We enjoyed the food, service was good, but the bakery was our favorite part. There was a large selection of freshly made Mexican baked goods. If you don't have time for a meal, stop in for something from the bakery to go!

We had a late lunch here On Sunday. I had the Carne Peurco Plate from the Platos Fuerzos section of the menu. The food was good. We were served by a high school girl. Who was less than attentive. This was my second time eating here, the first time I had better service. The Food is good, A peeve is... More

My husband and I had lunch today at Casa Maria. Upsides were the chips and tasty salsa, friendly waitress and hostess, and interesting Caldo de camaron y pescado (spicy fish, shrimp, and vegetable soup served with tortillas). Downsides were the gordita (served on something like a toasted English muffin) and the $3.00 charge for chips on weekends. The fish in... More

This is a great Mexican place that has a blend of regional Mexican and Tex Mex. The Pork Al Pastor is amazing as its marinated for at least 48 hours. It has a blend of chills and a hint of mole. The place a great Mexican Bakery and rivals moist decent San Antonio places.

We found Casa Maria on our last trip to San Marcos and returned again today. Very friendly people. Great service. Great food. Easy to get to off the highway. Will definitely stop again on our way home.
