Don't Miss This Local Legend

If you are looking for some great food; this is the place to go. The meats are excellent and you can't beat the endless cup of award winning bean soup. Brisket, sausage, smoked turkey and chicken all worth trying. If you arrive after five; you can also try the fire grilled steaks. If you save a... read more

My family and I have been here about 10 times, and the food is awesome. The only problem is that the wait time is way too long. Every time we've gone, even if it's not busy, we wait longer than an hour. We love the food, so we keep going back.

The atmosphere is unique to Texas. They had longhorn steer out back , grazing in the fields. The wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful, offering suggestions to rookies from Pennsylvania. The pinto bean soup was wonderful and my husband and I both had the brisket sandwich, first time trying brisket, It was juicy, tender and the individual drinks come... More

Went on a recent Friday night. Service a bit slow but not horrible. Atmosphere is loud, but that's just the kind of place this is. Quality of food was very good. Steak very tender and flavorful, ribs very good too. Side salad and baked tater very large. Kind of on the pricey side tho, for what you get. Still, worth... More

I dined for the first and last time at this restaurant this week. The level of noise from the constant scraping of chair legs on the concrete floor made this dining experience a miserable one. The noise is unbearable, and was made even worse by individuals sitting nearby who were deliberately scraping the chairs across the floor in an obvious... More

A friend recommended this restaurant. I was in town on business, so by myself. I ordered the brisket, and it came with white bean soup, coleslaw, potato salad and Texas toast - all the traditional fixins. I hadn't had Texas BBQ in a while, and it was very good. The atmosphere is very Texas - lots of cattle heads on... More

WE were stuck in Harlingen , TX and asked for suggestion on supper. WE went to find and they did not have steaks til 5pm. They only served on Fri, Sat & Sun after 5. Lucky we got there shortly after 5 because it filled fast and many people waiting. We sat down and they first brought us a mug... More

Stopped in for supper, with a party of six, and everything, but my steak, was considered by our group to be top notch. The bean soup offered as soon as your seated, was tasty, and was offered several more times before our meals arrived. Our group ordered the Brisket/Rib combo, the full, and half rack, baby back ribs, the Salmon,... More

We drove 45 mins to get to this restaurant to try the steak and ribs. The 1/2 rack of ribs came with coleslaw and potato salad. The potato salad was mustardy and the coleslaw was nice and crunchy. The ribs were tender but did not have Bbq sauce on them or with them. Our server later brought a small dish... More

Went here on a Friday night around 7:00 and the place was packed. They send us back to the lower 40 seating area and we were seated right away. We were given a cup of bean soup almost as soon as we were seated and it was very good. 2 of the folks in our group ordered the stuffed baked... More
