I love a good BBQ! Smoked turkey; chicken; brisket; sausage....you name it, I love it. I guess you could say our family are truly carnivores! When my father in law suggested we mosey on down to the Longhorn Cattle Company and enjoy some good BBQ, some amazing Banana Pudding and some good 'ol fashioned longhorn observing, we were like "saddle... This place has the best bbq in south Texas. I ordered the Baby Back Ribs which were amazing and the beans are delicious too.

Beans were outstanding, and all you can eat barbecue, five types of meats, for $19.00. Stuffed after. I totally recommend. You can see some longhorn cattle out back.

The BBQ is decent. The ribs are the best bet as far as meat goes. Their beans are out of this world. The banana pudding is also amazing.

The food and service at Longhorn Cattle Company is always outstanding. You cannot beat their Poorboy Sandwich. I mean, sliced brisket, chopped brisket, and sausage, all on a hoagie bun. What's not to love about that? The beans, or bean soup, are amazing. I always have two or more cups before my meal. When I am done, you have to... More

They butcher on site...yup, very fresh beef! Unbelievable smoked flavors! You can probably see your dinner walking around out back! The Sirloin was great! Eat it as is...no sauces needed.

Went for the bean soup to go loved it last year but this time it was mostly broth with a few beans and giant pieces of onion, like from a quartered onion. We really did not care for the soup to go. Sorry Longhorn

On a recent trip to Brownsville, I stopped to visit with a McAllen friend over barbecue at the Longhorn Cattle Company in San Benito. Great atmosphere--a true Texas barbecue joint--with Longhorns grazing in an adjacent field. Everything was enjoyable and tasty, including the bean soup, the ribs with a honey glaze, and the sausage, which had a unique smooth texture.... More
