Don't Miss This Local Legend

If you are looking for some great food; this is the place to go. The meats are excellent and you can't beat the endless cup of award winning bean soup. Brisket, sausage, smoked turkey and chicken all worth trying. If you arrive after five; you can also try the fire grilled steaks. If you save a... read more

Good food, but the back room which is the main dinning area is way too loud and echos. The wait staff tries to talk you out of the front area and tells you the service there will be slow. We have never had that happen in 10 years.

Eating here is a true Texas experience. Let me start with their pinto bean "soup" which is my absolute favorite. Your waiter or waitress will bring you a complimentary coffee cup of beans for starters. The beans are to die for and the best I've ever had anywhere! They are slow cooked in brisket pieces and drippings. You will find... More

Love the food and the wait staff, but it's so loud with just people talking its hard to hear one another. We always say, "Lets go to Cattle Co. ...... oh wait, it too loud there we can't visit".

My family and I have been here about 10 times, and the food is awesome. The only problem is that the wait time is way too long. Every time we've gone, even if it's not busy, we wait longer than an hour. We love the food, so we keep going back.

The atmosphere is unique to Texas. They had longhorn steer out back , grazing in the fields. The wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful, offering suggestions to rookies from Pennsylvania. The pinto bean soup was wonderful and my husband and I both had the brisket sandwich, first time trying brisket, It was juicy, tender and the individual drinks come... More

Went on a recent Friday night. Service a bit slow but not horrible. Atmosphere is loud, but that's just the kind of place this is. Quality of food was very good. Steak very tender and flavorful, ribs very good too. Side salad and baked tater very large. Kind of on the pricey side tho, for what you get. Still, worth... More

I dined for the first and last time at this restaurant this week. The level of noise from the constant scraping of chair legs on the concrete floor made this dining experience a miserable one. The noise is unbearable, and was made even worse by individuals sitting nearby who were deliberately scraping the chairs across the floor in an obvious... More

A friend recommended this restaurant. I was in town on business, so by myself. I ordered the brisket, and it came with white bean soup, coleslaw, potato salad and Texas toast - all the traditional fixins. I hadn't had Texas BBQ in a while, and it was very good. The atmosphere is very Texas - lots of cattle heads on... More

WE were stuck in Harlingen , TX and asked for suggestion on supper. WE went to find and they did not have steaks til 5pm. They only served on Fri, Sat & Sun after 5. Lucky we got there shortly after 5 because it filled fast and many people waiting. We sat down and they first brought us a mug... More
