This hole in the wall is definitely the best tasting BBQ and Catfish in San Angelo. Great stop on the way home from the lake. Service is always great.

Delicious! Quick service, friendly staff, and wonderful food. Get the 1/2 order of onion rings; definitely enough for 2 people and soooo good!

Having just left the Texas BBQ trail area near San Antonio, I was very pleasantly surprised to find high-quality BBQ late in the day (smaller operations often run out) on a Friday (6 pm). This is still a family-owned business (with plenty of West Texas character), and the crowd of cars outside suggested good things awaited inside as did the... More

I finally went to packsaddle after driving by it a million times and seeing how PACKED it is. There was no wait, the food cam quickly and it was AMAZING. The sausage, not so much, but the ribs were absolutely amazing. The sides were OK.

This place has excellent service and really good beef ribs. The sausage was tasty but I found the brisket to have good flavor but was very dry. The potato salad and coleslaw was pretty good. The atmosphere is dineresc, and clean.

Our waitress was friendly & helpful. We were glad to hear they smoked their meat in a dry rub so should could order it that way & then put your sauce on as you liked it. We ordered a combo plate of brisket & beef ribs and 1 of spareribs. The meat was tender & their (single choice) sauce was... More

This is a quaint little restaurant that serves some of the best BBQ in the city. They offered Brisket, Sausage, beef ribs and spare ribs. On top of that they have sandwiches and fried catfish. One appetizer that I really enjoyed was the fried mushrooms. It has the atmosphere of a BBQ restaurant with license plates from all over the... More

Dry and tastes like lighter fluid. Good sides and bbq is ok..... Probably the best in Angelo, but that's not saying much. Since Old Pit burned down, we've been stranded on good bbq.

I chose Packsaddle to cook my Thanksgiving turkey this year and not only did they smoke it, they sliced it up and all the hard work was done with the wish bone left on top in case you have small children. This will be my choice for all future Thanksgiving meals. Thanks for the recommendation Pat Koenig!!!

I know this restaurant and I know it well. having been stationed at the nearby Air Force Base and living in San Angelo for some time I know that consistency is the key to being the best in BBQ and for nearly 20 years Packsaddle Bar B Que has perfected the art of real, down home, Texas BBQ. The meats... More
