Friendly servers, good deal

Packsaddle is a little out of the way from the mainstream of San Angelo restaurants, but for good BBQ in a nice casual and non-assuming atmosphere, it is worth the trip. The place is small, but has a unique charm, between deer heads and what appears to be over a hundred in-the-carton to racing... read more

I have attended several events where they catered and it was excellent as always. I thought I hated cobbler and homemade vanilla ice cream until I had it here. If company shows up suddenly, I can call a carryout order and it is ready in ten minutes and always fresh. You can buy one item in bulk as well.

I very much enjoy this place. If you're hoity-toity, don't bother- the atmosphere is friendly but the place is no-nonsense, no-frills, and run down (which is part of the charm I think). The food is always consistent. Love the brisket and the catfish! The meat is smoked and the sauce is on the table, so don't expect "BBQ" to mean... More

Had the special for lunch.Food was not worth the money spent. Their onion rings were not seasoned, onion was old and still had the membranes on it. Place was filthy, air vents very dusty, and toy cars on wall covered with a film of crap. Service was poor even had a cook standing in the front watching tv? servers chatting... More

We often eat at Pack Saddle. The food is good old American BBQ. The brisket is always tender & the sausage is nice & spicy! Sides are not the greatest (beans are almost always cold) but there are plenty of choices. If you are looking for other diner favorites, they also have great burgers & my son loves their corn... Awesome food - great service...the owners know what they are doing! Wish they were closer to the hotels but well worth the drive and you get to see the lake too...

This hole in the wall is definitely the best tasting BBQ and Catfish in San Angelo. Great stop on the way home from the lake. Service is always great.

Delicious! Quick service, friendly staff, and wonderful food. Get the 1/2 order of onion rings; definitely enough for 2 people and soooo good!

Having just left the Texas BBQ trail area near San Antonio, I was very pleasantly surprised to find high-quality BBQ late in the day (smaller operations often run out) on a Friday (6 pm). This is still a family-owned business (with plenty of West Texas character), and the crowd of cars outside suggested good things awaited inside as did the... More

I finally went to packsaddle after driving by it a million times and seeing how PACKED it is. There was no wait, the food cam quickly and it was AMAZING. The sausage, not so much, but the ribs were absolutely amazing. The sides were OK.
