Wonderful BBQ!

What can I say but they have the best brisket I have every tasted. Tender, juicy just the right amount of sauce. The ribs are ok and the chopped beef sandwich is very good but why bother when the brisket is so stupendous. Sides are good and peach cobbler like your mother used to make. Place is... read more

Being west Texas, was thinking it would be a bit different. I guess we need to move over a bit more east of here. Brisket was very dry, fries were so so. Services was very good

The brisket and sausage was super. The price was great. This is a must eat if you visit San Angelo. It is out of the way but will worth the trip.

While visiting Texas, one can not have enough BBQ or Brisket! Under strong local recommendation, Packsaddle is one of those local-hide-away sweet spots for the ambitious pallet-seeker! Great chopped brisket and ribs! Friendly, down home service to a weary traveler!

I had a combo plate with sliced brisket and a beef rib. Brisket was a mix. Pretty good but a couple of slices were dryer than I prefer but the beef rib was very good.

While doing the tourist thing in the beautiful town of San Angelo, Texas, my friend and I stopped at a small (known as a "hole in the wall") place called the Packsaddle. Best choice we ever made! When we first walked in, the quirky interior really catches your eye, and the heavely aroma filling the dining area lets you know... More

BBQ is about consistency, tenderness, and flavor, Period. I have eaten here hundreds of times. I just traveled across the south on my Harley through BBQ Heaven. Through New Orleans across Mississippi down to Key West I did not find any BBQ as good as right here in my own home town of San Anglo. I headed straight here the... More

Packsaddle is a little out of the way from the mainstream of San Angelo restaurants, but for good BBQ in a nice casual and non-assuming atmosphere, it is worth the trip. The place is small, but has a unique charm, between deer heads and what appears to be over a hundred in-the-carton to racing cars along with other racing paraphernalia.... More
