Not the same as before!

We've eaten here several times over the years. If we were rating back then, would have given em a 4.5 for the dining experience, but not this time. We checked in to the motel and called at 5:45 to make meal reservations. Got a recording that said to leave request and they'd call us back....by 6:00... read more

On a sunny Sunday afternoon, saw this historic-looking restaurant and inn while meandering around the Salado, TX shops on Main Street. You feel as though you're in another century when first seeing this restaurant's outside appearance with old-fashioned sign and rocking chairs. However, upon walking inside, the restaurant dining and bar area emerge as dark and dank. We arrived @1:50pm... More

I grew up near Salado and have fond memories of the coffee shop located at stagecoach Inn. When a group of guys and I were traveling through I encourage them to stop and have breakfast there. Unfortunately I have to rate the coffee shop poorly. Out of the six of us no one had a meal that was worth anything.... More

The Stagecoach Inn is being remodeled. We had lunch on Sunday in an older part of the Inn. The price is fair for Central Texas and a 4 course traditional meal. I had prime rib which was excellent. Many historical artifacts are present throughout. The wait staff is very attentive and courteous. The Stagecoach Inn is worthwhile for those who... More

This place used to be great, but it has been far too long since an update. The kitchen is not what it used to be either. Sadly, the food is now unremarkable and expensive. Salado itself is a great place to visit, but the Stagecoach Inn desperately needs a complete makeover which we hope it gets.

Worth a try! good food. Unique place with lots of history! Take the time to try this place out so that you too can be part of Texas History. Great place for a date night.

Menu is fixed. Food bad. My hamburger tasted like it was precooked and reheated. Fries were limp and warm. Expensive with no atmosphere. Waitress was wonderful. Go somewhere else.

Our church group was disappointed several years ago by the quality of the food and said we would never return. Recently, after being assured the restaurant was under new management, we decided to give it another shot. IF IT COULD BE WORSE, IT WAS! The "Shrimp Cocktail" consisted of two of the smallest shrimp I have ever seen. My "Stuffed... More

Our family has started to converge on Salado the weekend of the Highland games over the last couple of years. Salado is just a really cool town on the verge of being a really artsy, charming spot to be in Texas. We went to the Stagecoach Inn both years on Friday night because that's what was suggested to us. Attractive old building and a friendly welcome but over cooked salmon, salty green beans seemingly canned or maybe frozen and over cooked, a small, tasteless scoop of a substance called squash soufflé, and a dried up baked potato. All for $23.00. Wine showed up when the meal was almost finished. We had heard good things about this restaurant but over... More
