Our group of 10 (8 native Texans) have dined here through the years and looked forward to our special Saturday evening here during our weekend in Salado. This is no longer the special place it once was. It's quite run down, not especially clean and the beautiful atrium that once housed colorful birds is now deserted and desolate. The food... More

I took our family of 5 to the Stagecoach Inn Restaurant. I called ahead and made a reservation and the table was ready and we were seated promptly on arrival. It was a round table back in a corner with nice views through windows. Very cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Our server, Debbie, was wonderful. She told us what was on... More

Skip stones in Salado Creek, but skip this Stagecoach. It is extremely expensive value wise. Sunday meals were basic “blue plate specials” priced above $20.00. Service was atrocious. Choices were catfish, turkey and dressing, ham, chicken fried steak or prime rib. Items were either pre-cooked or from the deep fryer. We had prime rib and chicken fried steak. The corn... More

Stagecoach Inn is a small motel right on I-35 about 30 minutes north of Austin. It may not look like much from the front but behind the Inn is a village of little shops that includes art, antiques, blown glass and gifts. The Inn was built around a large oak tree that comes right through on of the dining rooms.... More

Attended a reunion. Made reservations at the restaurant for 30 . When we arrived, we only had one waitress to serve all of us. It was a two hour dinner. Very limited menu & very expensive for what you got. This place was once a wonderful experience but really needs updating. The food was just ok.

We reserved five rooms. The check-in staff were very helpful. The rooms were very musty, which was noticeable as we entered. Surely this could be fixed. The room was ok, although I would recommend new mattresses. Ours was lumpy and not particularly comfortable. The soap given in the bathroom was terrible. This should be changed. It was nice to have... More

The Stagecoach Inn was the stopping place on journeys between San Antonio and Dallas, and the original building is still there, complete with rocking chairs on the porch. The restaurant has grown over the years, but still keeps some of the same traditions. The menu is not written but recited by the waitress. The fare includes appetizer, salad, entrée, dessert,... I am shocked at some of these reviews, I would give them 5 stars for the hush puppies alone. We have been stopping at the Stagecoach inn since my 45 year old son was a baby. Next Sunday he is taking me there for Mother's Day, a three hour trip. The food is wonderful, and the atmosphere is relaxing. I... More

Service poor. meal over priced. tables and chairs very uncomfortable. Was ashamed to bring guest there. In past years it was a pleasure to dine there. So sad to see it as is now. Doubt we will ever return.

Needs to be updated, keep the stage coach look but modernize the interiors and put in a modern eating place. The old and the new can work together.
