Our church group was disappointed several years ago by the quality of the food and said we would never return. Recently, after being assured the restaurant was under new management, we decided to give it another shot. IF IT COULD BE WORSE, IT WAS! The "Shrimp Cocktail" consisted of two of the smallest shrimp I have ever seen. My "Stuffed... More

Our family has started to converge on Salado the weekend of the Highland games over the last couple of years. Salado is just a really cool town on the verge of being a really artsy, charming spot to be in Texas. We went to the Stagecoach Inn both years on Friday night because that's what was suggested to us. People... More

Attractive old building and a friendly welcome but over cooked salmon, salty green beans seemingly canned or maybe frozen and over cooked, a small, tasteless scoop of a substance called squash soufflé, and a dried up baked potato. All for $23.00. Wine showed up when the meal was almost finished. We had heard good things about this restaurant but over... More

This used to be our family favorite as many as 40 years ago my father absolutely loved to go here as a special occasion we would drive 40 miles to eat here. I have to say I love the hush puppies. But the last few years it has become the worst food you could get. My husband and I have... More

Both the restaurant and coffee shop had great food with excellent staff. Enjoyed eating there. The restaurant serves a set 4 course meal, several entrees to choose from. We chose the stuffed shrimp and it was very good. We ate breakfast at the coffee shop twice and each time it was very tasty. Service was a tad slow but the... More

We were there on a Monday night. Very quiet, a nice clean room, well kept up. Very nice bathroom fixtures. We ate dinner at their restaurant the Friday before. A very nice four course meal was had. Our service was very attentive. Food tasted above average. We also ate in their coffee shop for breakfast. Very nice meal, well cooked!... More

Our group of 10 (8 native Texans) have dined here through the years and looked forward to our special Saturday evening here during our weekend in Salado. This is no longer the special place it once was. It's quite run down, not especially clean and the beautiful atrium that once housed colorful birds is now deserted and desolate. The food... More

I took our family of 5 to the Stagecoach Inn Restaurant. I called ahead and made a reservation and the table was ready and we were seated promptly on arrival. It was a round table back in a corner with nice views through windows. Very cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Our server, Debbie, was wonderful. She told us what was on... More

Skip stones in Salado Creek, but skip this Stagecoach. It is extremely expensive value wise. Sunday meals were basic “blue plate specials” priced above $20.00. Service was atrocious. Choices were catfish, turkey and dressing, ham, chicken fried steak or prime rib. Items were either pre-cooked or from the deep fryer. We had prime rib and chicken fried steak. The corn... More

Stagecoach Inn is a small motel right on I-35 about 30 minutes north of Austin. It may not look like much from the front but behind the Inn is a village of little shops that includes art, antiques, blown glass and gifts. The Inn was built around a large oak tree that comes right through on of the dining rooms.... More
