Not the same as before!

We've eaten here several times over the years. If we were rating back then, would have given em a 4.5 for the dining experience, but not this time. We checked in to the motel and called at 5:45 to make meal reservations. Got a recording that said to leave request and they'd call us back....by 6:00... read more

Apparently due to construction of the I-35 highway project and major disruptions to restaurant access, Stagecoach Inn is closed. There is no public indication when or if it will reopen. My rating comments are from previous visits to the restaurant and may not apply when or if the restaurant reopens.

I made reservations in September 2014 for a family reunion July 31st 2015. I was phoned on June 5th to be told they had just found out that day they would be closed for remolding. I was offered no assistance in finding other accommodations, just a "I am sorry." There is no excuse for the management or employees to have... More

This was the gathering place for dinner with my cousins after our family reunion. With little notice, they accommodated two large families and 2 more singles. There were 14 of us with children from the age 2 months to 14 years old. Our waitress,Nicole, served all of us with ease, good nature and extra attention. She won over the kids... More

My husband and I discovered the Stagecoach Inn restaurant 40 years ago while he was on active duty at Ft. Hood. We have visited Salado many times through the years and always enjoyed our meals at the restaurant. On May 28, 2015 we made a special trip and planned our day based on the anticipation of once again eating at... More

We took my 78yo mother here Sat. night, because she requested it. She's been coming here since the 50's. Sadly, it has seen better days, and seems to be on the verge of closing. The two main dining rooms were closed, and we were taken to a back room that looked like it doubled for the storage of chairs. Although... More

On a sunny Sunday afternoon, saw this historic-looking restaurant and inn while meandering around the Salado, TX shops on Main Street. You feel as though you're in another century when first seeing this restaurant's outside appearance with old-fashioned sign and rocking chairs. However, upon walking inside, the restaurant dining and bar area emerge as dark and dank. We arrived @1:50pm... More

I grew up near Salado and have fond memories of the coffee shop located at stagecoach Inn. When a group of guys and I were traveling through I encourage them to stop and have breakfast there. Unfortunately I have to rate the coffee shop poorly. Out of the six of us no one had a meal that was worth anything.... More
