This is the Round Rock outpost of the venerable Texas BBQ chain. It's a cavernous space filled with picnic tables. It's casual sit-down service. We had a large family gathering and decided to go to the Salt Lick. There were 15 in our party with four being children. The staff seated us quickly and away from the other diners (which was really nice for us and them) and effortlessly took our very varied order and delivered quickly. The kids could play and the adults... More

I had a sampler plate with sausage, pulled pork, and brisket. Every item was simply fantastic. The sausage and pulled pork were as good as I've had anywhere and the brisket, especially the burnt ends, were basically life-changing. Set a new standard for BBQ in my life.

We went to the Round Rock location to eat dinner with friends. The food is always awesome but the service this time was horrible. While conversing, the waitress did come and ask for our order several times. But as friends do, we got lost in the moment. Once we placed our order the food came quickly. While in the middle... I was in the area for business and our group had lunch here. A neat looking place on the outside. We were seated right away and served quickly. I ordered the brisket and sausage and it was fantastic and I smothered it all with their hot bbq sauce. The potatoe salad is unusual in that it just looks like mashed... More

This review is for their Houston Airport location. They own it, so they're responsible for it. The IAH location is God awful. The pulled pork was not only greasy, but six hours later I was sick. The baked beans were equally bad. If the original location is any good, someone in ownership needs to eat the BBQ at their Houston... More

Some of the best BBQ I've ever had- and I tend to seek it out. Have to say that the ribs and sausage are much superior to the turkey (too dry) and the brisket (flavourful but tough). A nice drive out of Austin to a picturesque vinyard/ ranch. Diner is BYOB but there is a VERY convenient winery/ booze shop... More

The Ribs, Sausage, Coleslaw, and Potatoes were great! The beans were a little too salty. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. Good atmosphere. Convenient location. The service was good. The staff were friendly and courteous. Will definitely eat here again.
