Great Family Friendly BBQ, Texas Style

We were directed here by some locals and it was worth it. We loved the family friendly and energetic atmosphere in a typical Texas Ranch style decor. Open spaces, and terrace seating on large bench style tables. We especially liked the pulled pork and the pork ribs. Cole slaw was also delicious... read more

I was a little disappointed in this restaurant. I was visiting family in Round Rock, Texas. Some of them said it was a pretty good place to eat, but after this visit they indicated that it had gone downhill. When you first walk it, it smells great. The large cooking pit is right there at the entrance, and the aroma... More

We had a wonderful experience at Salt Lick. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. The atmosphere was inviting and appropriate. The peach cobbler a la mode was perfection.

This place is a little out the way but is absolutely worth the drive. About 45 mins outside Austin this place is in a little dry county which means you can bring your own alcohol. For around $20 they will keep refilling your plate until you can't take it any more. Fantastic Brisket and Ribs!

I decided to go here because the reviews I saw on it placed it #2 in BBQ in Austin. I ordered Thurmon's choice which was sausage, brisket and pork ribs with a side of coleslaw, beans and potato salad. I received one rib with a little meat on each side three strips of brisket and about six pieces of sliced... More

I've been here 3 time & with each time I left more & more disappointed. Let me start by saying that the best things there in my opinion are the pork ribs & the pecan pie! Yum! So much flavor! But everything else? Not good... All the other meats were dry... The chicken, pulled pork, brisket to name a few...... More

Texas style BBq we had a party of 13 , while waiting you bring your own adult beverages( if you want) and sit on picnic tables and enjoy the wait . Once seated they have several combination plates so you can try a variety of what they have to offer ( my suggestion) . Great flavors and once you are... More

A couple of years ago, my husband and I ate at Salt Lick in Driftwood, Tx, and absolutely loved it. We had the pecan pie for desert and thought it delicious. We expected to be equally impressed with this Salt Lick, but we're not. The place was crowded, and our server was very nice, but the food was not as... More

Very relaxed, unique atmosphere directly next door to the baseball stadium. BBQ was tender and delicious. Potato salad is different than I'm used to and coleslaw was a but vinegary. Overall would highly reccommend it.

In the middle of BFE, long lines and relatively high prices make this a "fair" Texas BBQ joint. I think Rudy's is much better all the way around....
