We ordered family style. It was all you could eat, brought right to the table. The ribs and brisket were really good. Loved the "tator salad". Recipe is online. Not cheap. 3 of us was right at $100 including tip. My wife didn't care for the picnic bench seating as she wore a dress. Lots of room. Right next to... More

This is just a fun Texas style barbecue joint. You sit at picnic tables and it is byob. A lot of fun. And the barbecue is very good as well.

I was really excited about trying this place based on all of the positive reviews. I was expecting something tastier but the food was subpar. It wasn't bad but it wasn't the best BBQ in Texas. The brisket was dry, the rib wasn't fall of the bone tender, the sausage was the best part of the meat combo. I couldn't... More

While in Austin I tried numerous BBQ places and this was by far the best!!! The BBQ sauce is so good I bought bottles of it to take home to MD with me. The service was great, the food even better!

The Family Style menu option is the way to go if you're hungry and want to sample everything. The ribs are tender and fantastic.

Just basic bbq meats with choice of a few sides: cole slaw, beans or potato salad. Only like true bbq -- the kind where the meat cooks for hours over indirect heat -- do not like bbq sauce. Went with friends for a birthday, thought for sure I would find something to my taste. No. The meat was edible, but... More

We had heard to do the senior citizen move of eating here at around 5, and thank goodness we did! The wait was still about 25 minutes, but when we left about an hour later the waiting area was packed. Patrons are seated at long picnic tables with two kinds of BBQ, very good white bread and pickles and onions.... More

I'm going to do this backwards b/c I love desserts. The peach cobbler is out of this world. My daughter and I ordered one to split. That was a mistake. We should have ordered one apiece-which we finally did. If I knew how good it was going to be I would have ordered the whole pan for $23 instead of... More

While hosting a conference in Austin, my team took a group of about 60 on a 30 minute drive to Salt Lick BBQ. Really beautiful setting in rural Austin. Fantastic party room space and family style BBQ, potato salad, beans coleslaw, bread and cobbler.
