The BBQ beef brisket and sausage are always a hit in my family. The BBQ sauce is on the sweeter side, which I love. I do wish they had more choices of side dishes besides just pinto beans and potato salad. Good BBQ, worth checking out.

Ordered the beef rib. Good and meaty, not as meaty as La Barbecue or micklethwait craft meats. Just something about the rub. It was not the best I have had.

We went to this BBQ restaurant based on friends' recommendation. We tried everything except for the chicken, and all tasted excellent. Worth a try if you are visiting the area.

The food was very tasty and also very tender. The brisket would just fall apart, you could cut it with a fork. The best part there was no fat. Trimmed the way I like it. I'm not sure where they get their bread from, but it was warm and good. This was better then our bbq in Georgetown.

We were looking for good barbecue in or near Austin, and had already missed out on Franklin's so decided to try Salt Lick. The original location in Driftwood is cash only and byob, so we went for the convenience of the Round Rock location. It is a bit touristy, but still a fun atmosphere. The wait wasn't too bad, we... We made the error of checking out The Salt Lick in Round Rock with the assumption that the the food/service would the same as the Dripping Springs location. I can assure you that the only similarity is name only. We really wanted to like the Salt Lick RR but if you were to ask me, "Should I stop by and... More

I recently ate at Salt Lick while visiting my daughter and family in Austin. I am from the Northeast so good BBQ is hard to find. Friends who are former Texans recommended I try Salt Lick. It was a great meal and great value. I had the brisket/rib plate and it was delicious. The service was quick and friendly. I... More

I've had the opportunity to eat at this Salt Lick location twice now & both times have been fantastic. The ribs are my favorite, but the sausage and brisket is great too. The sauce at Salt Lick just enhances the BBQ all the more. I recommend getting the combo plate with brisket, sausage, and ribs and get a taste of... More
