I love Salt Lick BBQ. The atmosphere is very neat, the food is absolutely delicious with large portions, and the price was reasonable. I took some co-workers there for their first visit and everyone was pleased.

It wasn't bad....I like the moist brisket and the peach cobbler was delish! Our server was great; he was funny and he was very attentive to my family (all 18 of us). I didn't like the location though....the one in Driftwood, Texas the scenery was better.

I've eaten a lot of BBQ at various restaurants around Austin and have always heard Salt Lick was the best and finally got the chance to try it. This did not live up to they hype nor the prices they charge. I had the Combo with brisket and ribs. There was just no flavor, if meat requires sauce then it... More

I have eaten good BBQ a time or two but this was not it. I ordered brisket since I heard Texas is all about the beef. It was fair. The worst part was the flavorless sauce they put all over it. Even worse than the sauce were the sides. The coleslaw was very bland, the spicy beans had no spice... More

Being outside with the live music was amazing, and our server was nice, however the food was a huge disappointment. The brisket was tough, and it had a sweet taste to it, which isn't what I want from brisket. The pork ribs were dry and had the same taste as the brisket. We waited 15 minutes to get our food,... It would be a 5 rating, but it is just not as good as their Driftwood location. Still excellent BBQ, but atmosphere is lacking in comparison.

Just so you know what you're dealing with, we drove.to.Texas (from NYC) on a BBQ tasting road trip. We tried every state in between. My family are all celiacs, and I am a vegetarian, so this review will be slanted on a) hearsay based on family reaction, not my personal tasting and b) we only go to restaurants that are... More

Tucked away in the middle of nowhere is this gem. This is definitely a family style place. The long picnic style community tables and the pit right in the middle of the dining area is really a cool feature. The food is very good. Had a combination of chicken, brisket, sausage. The sides of beans, potato salad, and coleslaw are... More
