Well, this one's a keeper. Our kind of lunch spot. Casual atmosphere and exceptional food are the words that best describe our first trip to Shempey's. We enjoyed the crab dollars (ask for cocktail sauce if you don't like mayonaisse), house salads and broiled flounder with zucchini. it arrived quickly and our waitress was attentive and kind. This was the... More

We went for an early dinner around 4:45 (and we definitely beat the crowd). The waitress was pleasant and she recommended the specials on the blackboard--red fish, mahi mahi, flounder, etc etc. Ended up going with fried okra for an appetizer (YUM--and a great portion for the price) and then blackened red fish, grilled red fish and grilled mahi mahi.... Great service as usual. Fab lobster bisque. Had a cup with a fresh side salad and it was the perfect lunch! Great food, good selection and reasonable prices. Food comes speedy from kitchen. Always busy.

Great food and fair prices. Not always speedy but not always slow either. Just relax and enjoy your BYOB which they will ice down if you want it cold or furnish a cork screw and glass for the wine at no charge. Friendly service, and they will even cook your catch if you want it fresh from the bay. When... More

We like their burgers after a long exhausting day of fishing in Estes Flats and the bay. Their fried shrimp and fish is good too.

Small Mom and Pop place, no frills, but excellent seafood. Oysters were just right and so was the price!

Ate here for the first time since moving to Rockport last year ... charming, busy place with the best Soft Shell Crabs I have ever eaten - split em with my hubby and we were beyond satisfied. Even better you can BYOB and they will ice it down for you in a bucket at the table. Room for improvement -... More
