Nice spot for lunch

The restaurant used to be barracks back in the 1800's and has been kept pretty authentic. Waiter was lively, fun and knowledgeable. Had the crab cake with snap peas and mashed potatoes. It was one of the best crab cakes I've ever had. Our glasses were always full. Quarters are a little tight if you... read more

I feel like I wasted money on something that wasn't really delicious. I had high expectations of the Lamb chops but it wasn't seasoned well. If I`m paying $50 for my food, I expect it to be almost perfect and I`m definitely not going back there.

Thank you for providing feedback about your experience at The Classic. I am sorry that the lamb on your visit didn't meet your expectations, and I've shared your comments with our team to ensure this doesn't happen again. We have served lamb for many years, and our lamb seasoning is part of what makes it great. For that reason, I... More

What a wonderful fine dining experience we had for lunch in Roanoke. We fell in LOVE with the roasted shrimp chowder soup and the homemade olive bread as a starter and were equally as pleased with the Boston bibb wedge salad. The wedge was very unique in that it was topped off with an olive and pepper tapenade and oven-roasted... More

A great little restaurant in a renovated house, great service, interesting menu, creative cocktails. Why did I rate it average? The taste of the food. While the presentation was nice, the flavors were flat. I had the Jagerscchnitzel (AKA german chicken fried steak) and it was chewy and dry. Others in our party had the crab cakes and the soup... First let me say this is not my first review of Classic Cafe but my opinion has not changed. This our favorite, and we have many experiences with which to compare. The great imagination of the chef, the attentive service, the outstanding tastes all add up to make a wonderful dining experience. In our opinion, simply the best.

Classic Café is one of my ALL time favorite places to eat! It's wonderful for a special occasion. Three girl friends took me for my birthday. Food was outstanding and although none of us ordered dessert, they brought a wonderful ice cream dish with "happy birthday" written in chocolate to our table. I host a Christmas lunch each year, and... More

The Classic Café is one restaurant not to be missed. It is a very nice intimate dining place that welcomes diner to relax and enjoy a fine dining experience with very attentive service. The wine list is notable, entrees will please one's appetite, and the desserts well prepared and a perfect end to a fine meal.
