Well prepared and flavorful lunch options. Light and delightful amuse bouche with watermelon base and excellent summer refreshment soup (slightly chilled fruit soup) were excellent. Fritter highly recommended by waitstaff good but not exceptional. Salads were very good. Iced tea choices were republic of tea poured with a flourish over a glass of ice. Overly chatty waitstaff disappointing. Unsolicited stream... More

We visited for a Birthday dinner with our 11 year old. Waitstaff was helpful- he did seem a little overwhelmed with too many tables and didn't come back to check on us as often as we would have liked. The food was really good. I had the crab cakes which were excellent. My husband really liked his Jagerschnitzel and our... More

Had the 14 oz Ribeye. Flavorful and perfectly cooked. Service was excellent. Wine selection was good but not great. Sides were well-prepared and very tasty. Dessert was just okay. Had the Jalapeno apple cobbler. Crust was too hard and not warm. Flavors were excellent. Still, all in all, expensive but very good. Would return.

Took my husband to the tiny town of Ronoake, Texas for His birthday. The Classic salad was perfect. Toasted glazed walnuts, crisp green apples, feta cheese. Then tomato basil soup. Thick, rich and creamy. My husband had crab cake that he said was perfect. I had salmon with Asian sauce. Better than any salmon I had eaten. Both came with sautéed squash fresh... More

If you have never been to the Classic Café you are missing out on a special experience. They are consistently one of the best restaurants in the metro area. The management is fantastic, the service is great and the food is unbelievable. The décor is a little quaint, but regular customers love that. Their glazed salmon is the best I... More

First visit at lunch with my husband. Good variety on menu. Calamari was incredible - cooked perfectly. Cheeseburger was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Crab cake was moist and full of meat. Can't wait to come back. Waiters were attentive, co-owner checked in us and explained the cooking courses offered by the chef.

My husband and I were visiting friends who recently moved to Roanoke. We are all foodies and really enjoy great food and wine. They suggested Classic Cafe and it was a wonderful choice. Our waiter Chris was amazing and explained every dish perfectly. As my friend said "I'd like for him to read me the menu at Sonic" Every dish... More

The restaurant used to be barracks back in the 1800's and has been kept pretty authentic. Waiter was lively, fun and knowledgeable. Had the crab cake with snap peas and mashed potatoes. It was one of the best crab cakes I've ever had. Our glasses were always full. Quarters are a little tight if you try to get up and... More
