Description: Have you ever told your family what you’d do different if you opened a restaurant?  Well, that’s exactly why we opened Babe’s Chicken Dinner House. We wanted a sit-down restaurant where people really feel at home. Where your neighbors wait on you and your whole family.

We loved the chicken. You get more food than you can eat. People wait hours to get into the restaurant. We stopped in and ordered and got our food in five minutes! The atmosphere is nice, but not worth waiting that long.

I had family in town and they had been to Babe's before and wanted to go back to have that great family style dinner. The amount of food would feed a family of 6 and there were only 4 of us, which left us with plenty to take home. The mashed potatoes were the best I ever had and the... More

We had friends visiting from Arkansas and, after a few nights dining at high end bistros around DFW, we decided on a casual dinner at Babes. We had a standard 20 minute wait for a table but that gave us enough time to tour "The Unique Dining Capital of Texas" to get an update on the local eateries. Once inside... More

Haven't been here in a couple of years. It was just like the first time. Great food served fast and smoking hot. They don't have many options. Only 2 to be exact but there is no need to worry. Chicken, homemade mash and gravy served with a veg and biscuit. They have found food nirvana.

I came here because of all the great reviews, and I had a chicken leg and salad. The chicken was so salty, even when I peeled off the skin just to eat the chicken it was tough, chewy, and also salty. The salad however, was good. I do not get the big draw to this place, unless I just visited... More

I don't know what I loved the most....the food or the atmosphere/decor! I had to find out why this place was so highly rated and why there was a 30 minute wait on a Tuesday nite. When the waitress comes to our table she is sweet as could be and states...."There are 2 things on our menu.....Chicken fried steak and... More

I didn't mean to eat that much, but the food was delicious! We went on a weekend and walked through the local stores while waiting for a table, the town is adorable with many local craft shops. Airing for a table outside they have misters to help keep you cool. Once inside, our waitress was busy, but still managed to... More

I have eaten at Babe's in Roanoke quite a few times over the past twenty years. I decided today that I will not go back. The food was okay - obviously we knew what to expect. Three adults and one child for lunch and were told that we could not just order three meals. Okay although the child wasn't hungry... More

There is nothing on the menu to dislike! The wait can be long on weekends, so go early or late and BYOB. Oh, also make sure you are wearing your stretchy Thanksgiving pants!

I was not expecting much went I went in. Boy, was I wrong! Babe's fried chicken was some of the best I've ever tasted. The sides were also delicious from the salad with a unique vinaigrette to the gravy, corn, and mashed potatoes. The atmosphere is laid back. Highly recommend!
