Have you ever told your family what you’d do different if you opened a restaurant?  Well, that’s exactly why we opened Babe’s Chicken Dinner House. We wanted a sit-down restaurant where people really feel at home. Where your neighbors wait on you and your whole family.

Fun place for first timers

So the babes in Roanoke is the original one and it is a mix of chairs and tables but very home cooking food. All you can eat for the sides and 4 pieces of chicken. Great fired chicken. But the prices have gone up a lot for the fried chicken dinner

We've been visiting Babe's in Sanger for years, whenever we travel to Texas. We are drawn by the food, and even more so the down home environment. Today, on a trip from Forth Worth to Denton, we decided to hit up the Babe's in Roanoke. First of all, Roanoke is a little gem of a town. Babe's fit in perfectly.... More

We would never have known about Babe's were it not for a blessed soul on our flight to Dallas who told us this place was a must. After eating there tonight, we have to agree. Best fried chicken we have ever tasted, and the biscuits and sides are pretty dang good too. If you're in the area, make plans to... More

My friend and I were out for a kicked-back, slow lane afternoon. Too late for lunch, too early for supper, we found ourselves in Roanoke and hungry. We both had heard that Babe's serves good chicken, so we decided to give it a try. On the covered sidewalk outside, we found an assortment of seats, mostly chairs and old tractor... More

Then this is your place. Hugh pieces of fried chicken, and family stalemated potatoes, cream corn, gravy, salad and biscuits. Very good....would love more selection, but the BEST fried chicken in Texas!

One simple choice: fried chicken or chicken fried steak (both are excellent). Everything else included, unlimited, and served family style on a lazy susan: biscuits, honey or molasses for biscuits, creamed corn, mashed potatoes, white gravy...and salad if you're inclined to add some roughage. So delicious and so affordable. Very neat one big room cafeteria-meets-barn-meets-dining room atmosphere.

If you like very few choices, good old fashioned fried food and have a hardy appetite this is the place for you. If you are a vegan or vegetarian you might not want to read any further. There is no menu at this place and only two items you can actually order: fried chicken and country fried steak. All meals... More

We live near Roanoke and generally consider the town to be the area armpit run by hillbillies. That said, we do slip into town once and a while for a shot of Babe's. Although this will probably not be he best meal you've ever eaten, it might be the best fried chicken. It is for me. The drawback to the... More

This place is fun and has a wonderful atmosphere---Texas Style! Fun, casual and easy. Come hungry for chicken because that's what you're there for. You may even want to partake in the hokey pokey. If you're new, let them know.
