I've been going to original Babe's Chicken in Roanoke since I moved to Texas over 10 years ago and they never disappoint. Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, cream corn, biscuits and a salad (all the sides are all you can eat). I typically go with the chicken but I've had the chicken fried steak as well and it was up there... More

Family style dinning with a simple menu of two items, Fried Chicken or Chicken Fried Steak. Both come with all the fixings, Salad, Potatoes, Corn and Bread all for one low price.

My advice is to cease eating a couple days prior to visiting Babe's as you will need to ensure plenty of room for all the food you will be served. A very simple menu, only two entrees, and five sides. Your choice is between plenty of fried chicken (most leave with a plastic bag of leftovers) or a huge, fill... More

Babe's in Roanoke is the original chicken-fried steak or fried chicken restaurant. They serve whichever you order with lettuce only salad, cream style corn, mashed potatoes, and biscuits. Served family style, the vegetables are delicious. The chicken-fried steak had quite a bit of fat in it and I don't eat chicken on the bone. My husband said the chicken was... More

You better be really hungry when you go to Babe's! The chicken is outstanding, the sides and biscuits are terrific! We left stuffed to the gills! Try it, you'll like it!

I was surprised when we were seated after a short wait that we didn't receive menus. With only a few choices they were not needed. Not being a big fan of Fried Chicken I was the only one who ordered Chicken Fried Steak. The food was great. The mashed potatoes and gravy were the best I have ever tasted. With... More

Babe's has been around for decades and one trip there and you can see why. It's a home style southern meal of either chicken or chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, creamed corn and biscuits. I try not to eat like this, but if you are going to, there's no better place than Babe's to indulge yourself.

So cute, so friendly, always full, always delicious! 2 choices: Chicken fried steak or fried chicken. All you can eat! including the sides of Salad, rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy and creamed corn!! BYOB so the price is right and you will go home with a full meal in your doggy bag as well!

Babe's is famous, and for good reason. GREAT place, limited menu, but who cares. You go there for good fried chicken (chicken fried steak too), and that's what you get, good fried chicken. Get there early, always a line after 6pm, ANY day of the week. BUT, if you've never been, it's worth the wait.

We love Babe's, when our kids come to visit us from England, this is the first place that they want to go in Roanoke. Correction, it is the second place after a margarita at Tacos and Avocados. It never disappoints and is very good value.
