Chocolate Angel makes good salads and pastries, however it lacks the special taste needed to overcome the poor atmosphere. The restaurant simply gets overcrowded during typical lunch hours which causes them to merge different groups at the community table. Now they do make good salads, but there is nothing unique about the food to make the poor atmosphere worthwhile. You... More

The ladies of our Sunday School had lunch at Chocolate Angel recently. Our room was beautiful, our server was attentive but not overly so, and the food was wonderful! We all eat different items on the menu and no one was disappointed! Our day together turned out perfect. Not the first visit to CA..... certainly not my last. A plus!

They insist you have a reservation even though when we went there was at all times at least 4 tables open. If no reservation they put you at a HUGE community table and service is slower than usual. We sat at a table that would seat 10 people and the whole time there was only two of us, it was... More

This is the second time I have been to this location. The first time was a completely different experience than I had today. This time we had pre-selected the menu for our group. We were told that our guest could have their choice of drink and dessert. They did get to choose their drink but their dessert was pre-chosen for... More

Arrived on time for reservation which hostess had mistakenly given to someone else with the same first name. A glance at her notebook showed an erratic bunch of scribbles--I found my own reservation and showed it to her. She shrugged it off, pointed us to a table, and we waited 10 minutes for a server. Although we eventually were able... More

The Chocolate Angel is a great little cafe tucked into an antique mall. I had the trio of sandwich, soup, and pasta salad. The food is excellent. The staff was a little slow. We waited a long time for our check. Overall we loved it!

Today I went to the Chocolate Angel with the ladies in my family to celebrate my mother's 75th birthday. I have been to several tea rooms and am usually disappointed with both food and service. Not the case today. The atmosphere is lovely and will be especially appreciated by ladies. The food was absolutely wonderful. I had the salad sampler... More

Chocolate Angel is a nice tea room with good food. I had a cobb salad which was very good, even though they failed to put the egg on it. I did NOT like the crackers which had dill on them. The desserts are good as well. Reservations are needed because they are always busy. Wish they served wine.

Enjoyed salad sampler platter-tuna, pasta, and strawberry pretzel. All were fresh and of high quality ingredients, accompanied by a scone. Best strawberry pretzel salad I've ever had. Friend and I split a piece of decadent fudge pie, served warm with whipped cream and a drizzle of hot fudge sauce. Fun shabby chic decor. Saw "girls" ranging from two to 82... More

Wonderful salads and lunch! This is a ladies lunch place that specializes in light lunches and salads. The desserts are great as well. I always save room for the Coconut Custard pie. One of the best pieces of pie anywhere! When I am in the Dallas area I always stop in at the Chocolate Angel.
