Authentic real Mexican; some of the best we have ever had!

Reading many guide books on Big Bend NP, a footnote in one stated if you were driving the River Road beginning in Presidio, eat at El Patio. Are we glad we stopped for lunch. So, this was a non-hiking day at Big Bend and we decided to make the drive to Presidio, again. Been there, done it, but fiends who had been here a few weeks ago said the drive was great because of the wild flowers. They were right, but that was the sum and substance of the drive. In Presidio, we opted... More

The food here is excellent. It's the best Mexican we've ever had. The service was also very good, even though it was a very busy time.

This restaurant is rather plain and simple in its appearance. However, the food is excellent and the prices very reasonable. Two enchiladas, crispy taco, chili rellano, rice, and beans for $10.00. The salsa has a kick to it and a fantastic flavor.

We were doing the scenic drive from Lajitas and decided to stop in here for dinner. We were not expecting much. We left very pleased with our dinner and the service. This is a nice border town cafe and we recommend you give them a try if passing through.

This is a place where you can get good Mexican food without crossing the border. I recommend the combination plates, you get a little of everything. They also have burgers and a really good American menu. There is usually a soup and salad bar. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

If you like small, friendly Mexican cafes, you will like El Patio. And the food was very good and very well priced.

If you're not Mexican or look white don't go here. They won't give you chips much less serve you food. Beware.

If you don't mind being treated with disrespect go to this place. Literally, we placed our order while others came in after us and were served with chips and drinks. We waited 30 minutes and ended up walking out. This was the worst experience we have ever encountered.
