It's tough to find decent Tex-Mex on the coast that doesn't use lard or chicken fat. La Iguana is great food and offers many vegetarian entrees. The breakfast items are my favorite. I highly recommend the Migas. They can easily accommodate a crowd with their table arrangements. No small booths here.

A Portland fixture - great place for lunch. Specials daily. Bloody Marys on Sunday. My favorite is their Family appetizer.

Food is usually good but sometimes the service is poor. Overall we take our chances and it's worth it. They have good enchilados and fajita tacos. Stay away from the chicken!

Actually it was the only Mexican Restaurant in Portland (near Corpus Christi) but seriously, the food was very good and the service was attentive. I had a breakfast and a dinner there and both were well prepared. The menu is very long and difficult to decide from. The atmosphere is pretty typical but they seem to have collected every iguana... Enchiladas were nasty. horrible taste, beans tasted old tortillas tasted like they were microwaved. That's not the way u cook authentic mexican tortillas I think they learned it from Chili's. Won't eat there ever again.
