Traveling we like to try different restaurants- no chains. This was one of the best places that we have tried. We went early as we heard that it gets very busy. Not fancy- it was like a hole in the wall cafe with excellent food.

The chips were VERY greasy. The queso was above average. Service was poor and the place was not busy. The food was ok but was floating in grease. Maybe thats why it tasted ok.

Dinnertime found us in Port Lavaca looking for a place to eat. We saw the recommendations on TripAdvisor and decided to give La Parilla a try. We were not disappointed. The staff was very nice and took our order quickly. We did have to wait quite a while to get our food, but the food was worth waiting for! My... More

We arrived 10 minutes to closing and the employees were more than happy to serve us. All of our meals were prepared fresh and the staff were very friendly.

I've eaten there twice, both time close to closing time (10PM). The restaurant was empty once and nearly empty the second time. Since I had no other competing diners my service, etc was very good. I can't sat this would be the case if there were more customers.

Simple small town cafe atmosphere with really great home style Mexican food. The Chile rejeno was made with pablano, which i have never seen in a restaurant. They were wonderful.

We were told this was the place to go for Mexican and after checking with Trip Advisor and seeing the great ratings we were really looking forward to it. However, we were both a bit disappointed. First off, we waited a long time just to get water and our order placed. Happily the wait for food was not long. I... More

The food was OK but maybe could be that the poor service ruined everything. Very disappointed after the reviews gave it such high ratings. I will not be coming back.

Restaurant has a different name on sign. Deep fried avocado was good. Drinks are are weak. It was busy but great service. A lot of families so it was very loud. If your looking for a quiet meal this isn't the place.

Great Mexican Restrauant. Had deep fried avacodo stuffed with shrimp, never had this before and it was great along with their tortilla soup. We also had seafood enchilada it to was excellent. You need to use trip advisor in order to find this, unless your going for Mexican Restrauants. Would come back again.
