La Antigua is very good

This is very good Mexican food. Authentic cheeses and sauces. Tortillas were a little over-cooked and dry, but everything else was excellent. Service was very good and staff was very friendly.

The food was eatable however thier was no spice. I had beef fajitas and I mean not even salt and pepper was used. Everything from the beans to the rice, it was like hospital food!!! I ate 3 bites but was not even offered a to go box ....painfully obvious that something was wrong, but the waitress did not speak... More

Now called La Antigua, has great service, amazing food, and reasonable prices!! Food portions are large and delicious. The place was busy, yet still attentive. Very clean and friendly environment. We've been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all were very good!! Can't choose a favorite!

Considering the geography I was looking forward to some good Mexican food. Read the reviews & was excited. My experience did not match some of the reviews. I sat in a booth - hard to find one without a badly torn cushion & was served cold drab tortilla chips & salsa from a squirt bottle - taste wasn't to my... More

A friend and I had an early dinner and were very happy with our experience. The atmosphere was small-town comfortable and service was good if not quick. Menu was extensive with some house specialties (beef cheek, tongue) that I want to try. I had fajita enchiladas which were very good with true beef strips covered with a surprisingly good gravy.... Stopped in for lunch on a Friday about 11:45. We ordered off of the menu, rather than one of the lunch specials. The chips that were brought out tasted to us like old oil had been used, as they left a bitter aftertaste. (It didn't seem to bother the other guests, however.) It took 40 minutes for our plates to... More

Great service at small quaint restaurant. It's now called La Antigua. Food was great and we'll priced. Tried the fried avacado, different but good. We'll situated and easy to find.

Third restaurant we have eaten at in Port Lavaca - enjoyed the experience. Seems a little chaotic - but the service was prompt and the food good. I had a snapper filet covered in a shrimp and chipotle sauce - tons of small shrimp and more spicy then I expected. Waaaay too much food - we should have the split... More

We were travelling through Texas and wanted delicious Mexican food as it is rare to find in our home state of Maine. We found this place through Trip Advisor. What a great find. Prices were fair and the service was wonderful. I had the stuffed avocado. What a great surprise. It was an avocado stuffed with chicken fajita and cheeses... More
