We visited on a sunday afternoon for lunch after check out when most people were waiting in line to board the ferries. This was a good decision, as there were few diners. The cafe has some very old pictures and newspaper articles displayed on the walls that depict what life on the island was like over the past century. The... More

We went there for breakfast - the toast was cold and stale. I ordered my eggs over easy and the yolks were completely cooked and cold. The cinnamon roll my daughter ordered was burnt. The staff just went through the motions. Don't bother going here - go to Frankie ' s instead.

We have visited this restaurant every year for 30 years and probably wont again after the last visit. The hostess was so rude i almost left immediately. Our waitress was very sweet, however there was spilled milk in my seat and crumbs on table. Restaurant was too warm amd the flies were annoying. the french fries were really good but... More

I've grown up going to Port A, and have always loved Island Café. It was one of the first stops and last stops when it was by the ferry landing, and now we do go for breakfast one morning and lunch or dinner the next. Good old fashioned hamburgers, and good old fashioned breakfast, i.e. bacon or sausage, eggs and... More

This seemed to be about the only place open for breakfast on a Monday. There was a steady crowd. We had to wait a while before our order was taken, but hey, we're on island time, right?! I ordered the shrimp omelette and it was delicious. The home made hash browns were very good too. My husband ordered the two... More

Cook put a "prize" for my daughter on her hamburger... A JUNEBUG...still whole and intact, but dead. Within seconds of finding the Junebug, the Waitress then accidentally spilled my husbands large cup of water all over his food. We left.

this downtown cafe is very popular and has great breakfasts at reasonable prices. Fast friendly service. Traditional breakfasts. Have not tried other meals. Easy to access. We will be back.

The food was good, and there were lots of choices. Café was clean and in good shape. Waitress and other staff very friendly. Overall a great place to eat!

After 45 minutes and no food we threatened to leave. But we left with food in styrofoam because we had to pay $40 and couldn't stomach the place. Latecomers left and right were halfway through their meals. Lunchtime on a Saturday, but there were still plenty of empty tables, so go figure. Should have left after examining the pedestrian menu,... More
