Everything was just wonderful. We went to the coast for a babymoon and wanted to eat somewhere nice. We had tried several other restaurants in the past and they were all a little off, so we thought it might be Port Aransas. There was nothing off about Marcel's! It was a cozy little place but still very nice. We had... More

Thanks to a quick look at Trip Advisor before we went out for dinner, we found Marcel's. We had a wonderful meal and dining experience. For my husband and self it was such a nice environment to spend an evening together with a very pleasant and friendly server who brought us well prepared food. I look forward to going back... More

Three couples went to dinner. Three people had the night's specials (shrimp or scallops), two had steaks and one had veal. All of the meals were done perfectly and served promptly and hot. Nice atmosphere and we were able to talk to everyone at our table for six. Service was good and friendly. Would definately recommend this Port A restaurant.

Very nice dining experience. We went because of the reviews on T.A. I had the veal and it was very tender and the sauce was great as was the German salad and bread. My partner had the Chicken Cordon Blu, again very good and done exactly the way we enjoyed in Germany. Atmosphere is terrific, and the owners work there... More

I have to say I wasn't expecting such quality food in Port A. The service, food and choices here were excellent. The red snapper was really good but so were the steaks and German food. The malbec we drank was good too. I highly recommend this place!

We were disappointed. The shrimp was so overcooked it was rubbery. We told the waitriess and she asked if we wanted to order something different, which was appropriate. The Hungarian goulash was average. The veal dish was like chicken fried steak, but not as good. The stuffed jalapeno appetizer was quite good and tasty. The bread was wonderful. The waitress'... Thank you for your feedback Michael. We all certainly remember your table. We regret that we seemed to have completely struck out in the entree department for you. You are correct that the Wiener Schnitzel is similar to "Chicken Fried Steak". The difference being Schnitzel is a "tenderized' cut of Veal (as if it isn't tender enough to begin with... More

We had the gazpacho and house salad as starters. The salad has a touch of German influence and the gazpacho a bit of Spain. Both are amazing!! Then we shared the sautéed red snapper with spinach and angel hair pasta. Oh my!! We ate every bite and then used their great fresh bread to sop up up the Hollandaise sauce.... More

Thank you very much for your favorable review. We are so happy that you feel we are doing a good job here. While we talk about retiring from time to time - we don't have any immediate plans to sell Marcel's (of course if someone were to make us an offer we couldn't refuse.....well, you never know) :-) Looking forward... Marcel's is a winner. Great food, reasonable prices, good wine list, and superb service. Every time we spend a few days in Port A, we go to Marcel's. We typically have the schnitzel but the other dishes are also very tasty. Virginia's and Marcel's are the top two restaurants in Port Aransas.

I am always in search of great sauerbraten and Marcel's did not disappoint. The red cabbage was home made and the fried potatoes were excellent. It was very difficult to decide from their menu, as everything looked good and the prices were so affordable. Craig, our server was very polite and even offered tips on where to obtain fresh shrimp... More

I was searching for the name of a restaurant my husband and I had tried on our last trip to Port A, when I came across Marcel's. Had never heard of it, though now that I know where it is - I know we've driven by it dozens of times. We love German food (and German beer!) so decided to... More

Thank you very much for your favorable review. We're so glad you enjoyed your experience at Marcel's. We also appreciate pointing out that, while it is a popular "by the glass" wine with regular customers, we didn't actually have the Joel Gott Cabernet Sauvignon on the menu. Problem corrected immediately! This also prompted us to look at anything else we... More
