Expected better.

I thought it would taste better but the crab cake and shrimp was ok and it seemed like maybe the basmati rice needed some sauce or butter or something. 22$ for that dish. My wife had the duck and it was raw and chewy in most of the middle. I knew there would be a wait so I am not... read more

This is by far the best food we ate in our week in Rockport/Fulton area. The chef here really loves to cook, you can tell. The mixed veggies were so tasty, and it wasn't just squash. There were green beans in there, and broccoli, carrots, onions. Just delicious. We had grilled shrimp, crab cake, mixed veggies, and key lime pie.... More

The food was excellent and the service was very good. There are only a small number of tables, but we did not have to wait for service.

We haven eaten here several times over the years and again this weekend. The steamed clams in broth made my husband very happy...he's still talking about them! The crab cakes with shrimp scampi skewers were also scrumptious. And key lime pie hit the spot! Shells hits all the marks!

The June 2014 edition of "Texas Highways" had an article on Port Aransas restaurants, discussing Shells first and including a picture of the surf-and-turf combo. The small shrimp were good as was the wedge salad with blue cheese dressing and the mashed potatoes with our entrees. I don't know who thought balsamic vinaigrette would be a good sauce for the... Not for families, bad selection, poor service, and I've had better pasta out of a box. Waitress was unfamiliar with the menu. A bad experience for a birthday celebration lunch. Very small restaurant not for big parties. No kids menu..didn't even care that the people in our party didn't even eat half their food. All we got was sorry. Worst... More

This place was quite a surprise. A local recommended it and boy are we glad she did. We got there at a perfect time, 5:15 on a Saturday evening. There are only 8 or 9 tables and you must come early to get one. It is a very small place, nothing fancy, yet the meals are tremendous. We had the... More

Very small neighborhood restaurant with good seafood and great service. I had the ceviche - it was good, but not the best I've had. Husband had a salad which he enjoyed. We split the grilled shrimp entree which was very good - especially the julienned veggies - yum yum!

What a nice inexpensive high quality restaurant. It is small so on the week end or during the summer they will have a waiting list from 15 minutes to 1 hour. Best to get there between 5 and 6 pm. Entries specialize from delicious Italian to wonderful seafood. In addition to the menu they offer a large variety of specials... More

My family ate there on one of those cold, rainy evenings that another reviewer mentioned but it was cozy and there was a space heater to keep the restaurant warm. It is a small area so don't try to have personal conversations because you could hear other people talking in the room and I am sure they could you as... More
