Almost like a ghost town

We were leery to try it because of so few cars in the parking lot at the same time when other restaurants' lots were packed. We visited this place twice - first time we just had key lime pie, which was okay. Second time was for dinner. My fiancé had jambalaya and one other rice-based dish (red... read more

We are here after finding that every other restaurant on Beach St. had a minimum 30 min. wait. Don't expect plates, cups or eating utensils that are not disposable. All of the tables are covered in butcher paper, and we watched the waiters bus tables by simply picking up the paper and all of the items sitting on top in... More

Love the laid back atmosphere and the good food. Had the boil for two which is really too much food for two. The boil has just the right amount of "kick" without knocking you out of your seat. Wish they had a full bar.

I would definitely return. The food was great and a large portion. The price is a little high but the quantity of the food makes up for it. The wait staff was friendly and professional.

I am not a local but have been coming here nearly every year for as long as I can remember. It held great memories growing up because what's not to love about eating seafood off the table! I will say I have always had consistently great service. BUT unfortunately, I feel like the food has taken a nose dive. I... More

We just googled "seafood restaurants" and this was one that came up. My friend is from Louisiana and she said the taste was just like she was back home. She got the works--the Hungry Cajun. Tons of food, just dumped on the two layer paper tablecloth (Cajun style, doncha know) and the waiter gave her a mallet to whack crab... More

Terrible place to eat, we felt like we wasted $60 hard earned dollars. Don't waste your money on the Hungry Cajun!!! We got only 13 shrimp total and a few crab legs!! Mostly rubbery sausage and frozen corn on the cob!! The Hungry Cajun left both out stomachs and wallets empty!! If you are ever in Port Aransas Texas, find... More

Once again, saw this in Texas Highways magazine and had to try the seafood feast. The service was good, but only because there were only two other couples besides us in the place at 7:30 at night. Food was average at best. Won't go back. There are too many good places to eat in Port A to waste time and... More

Food was okay. Bread was tough like it had been microwaved. Carpet filthy. It had an overall look of being unkempt inside and out. I have had better and cleaner.

The place is definitely Cajun -- there's a one-man act that plays there often, and is very entertaining. What a blast -- Order the "Hungry Cajun" -- crab, shrimp, prawns, sausage, corn, potatoes .. all just dumped on your table. Fun fun fun! The seafood was fresh, and tasty. Wish there was crawfish, but not in season :( All of... More
