Where the locals eat

We visited on a Sunday night in late September. All of the weekend tourists were gone and Port A appeared largely dead. But Liberty Hall Inferno was half to a two-thirds full during the entirety of our visit. I can't imagine what this place must be like in the height of summer. Most of the... read more

My husband and I went here last Sunday for brunch. I had the butternut squash soup and shrimp crepes and he had a seafood omelette with fried potatoes. I would have liked to share more of my soup with him but selfishly I didn't - so good! And the crepes were scrumptious. My husband loved his meal also. The waitresses... More

Ate dinner here with a decent sized group. It appeared that the wait staff and kitchen were not prepared for a group. They were very friendly and accommodating though. Food was good, not great - but would be better in the onseason

The food at the Inferno was perfectly prepared and excellent in every way. However, our iced tea was served in plastic disposable glasses. My wife's meal was served on a paper plate while mine was served on a large china plate. The table was covered with paper after the style of Louisiana Cajun pig trough restaurants. The kickers were the... More

Casual elegance done right! Nice wine list and wonderful service. Very broad and creative menu--so broad we wondered about the kitchen's ability to execute, but both our dishes were perfectly prepared: fresh, flaky fish, superb sauces and crisp vegetables. And the new pastry chef delivered a wonderful desert. Expensive--but worth it!

Finally open for dinner from Wednesday's to Sunday's, The Liberty Inferno is a delightful dining option in Port Aransas. The food was delicious (shrimp and grits were spectacular) and the atmosphere is charming. The menu changes daily based on the local fish catch. The restaurant is upscale for the island yet clientele are dressed in fishing shirts and flip flops.... More

We enjoyed the four specials offered last night. With a group of four, we were able to sample each of the specials. What a fun evening with terrific food and perfect service! The whole fried flounder was my favorite along with the big eyed tuna and stuffed flounder. Shrimp Curry dish was flavorful and outstanding compared to other local fare.

The food was OK, we had the Red snapper and whole fried flounder. Good thing we ordered the flounder because the 2 by 4 inch square of red snapper for $25.00 was over cooked and looked like an appetizer. At these prices you don't serve water in plastic cups and then sell a bttle of $8 wine for $44 bucks.... More
