This place is one I will cross off my list. The food is overpriced for what you get. I would rather eat a box of frozen fish sticks then come back here. The atmosphere is okay. Blech.

Avery's is always dependable. Good menu of well prepared food. Mainly locals. Nearest thing to home style cooking available in Port A. No alcoholic beverages available. I highly recommend for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

This place has all the ambiance of a double-wide mobile home. No décor, no style, really blah. But the food was terrific, especially the coconut shrimp and the fried shrimp plate. Really light batter and fresh tasting. Expensive but excellent. BEST WE HAVE HAD IN PORT A. The salad bar was cramped and running low when we ate (8:30pm) but... More

Me and my buddy went to a old bar and met the owner, Avery. He convinced us to come in and try his food. The next day we came in for lunch, we each got the shrimp platters, coconut and regular, most amazing jumbo shrimp ever!! We will be back to see our new friend Avery and his great food.... More

We had a poor experience and will not likely return. We had read about this small casual diner in a recent magazine article so we decided to give it a try during a recent Port A. vacation. We were disappointed. We went for breakfast as we had read great things about their homemade scratch biscuits. And while the biscuits were... More

Very clean, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and the only place in Port A to get a Breakfast Buffet. The food is great as well. Photo opportunity in the front. Check out the Big sandcastle displayed in the front of the building.

We had lunch here on the recommendation of the hotel clerk as we waited for our room to be readied. The blackened chicken plate was good. My husband enjoyed his steak. The salad bar was pretty good- not a huge selection, but what was there tasted fresh and good. My son loved his chicken fingers and fries (he asked to... More

We had a great lunch at Avery's Kitchen. It was the best hamburger and cooked just the way I enjoy a good burger. The atmosphere is very casual, you feel like you are eating in someone's kitchen. Everyone was so friendly, it made the meal very enjoyable. The next time we are in Port Aransas, we will stop by for... More

We went here for lunch one day. We weren't sure what to expect. It's looks like a mobile home renovated into a restaurant. You actually park in back of the restaurant & walk on stepping stones to the front entrance. My husband ordered the sirloin steak & I had the shrimp po-boy. Both were very good. We were greeted immediately... More
