Local, Homestyle restaurant

If you like restaurants that make you feel like you are hanging with the locals, this is your place. Good homestyle comfort food. Sometimes a buffet, and we usually spot a local character or two.

Waiting over an hour for an ommelette is ridiculous. Food quality is good but if your hungry get the buffet. Drink order was not delivered for 20 mins (he forgot) When i asked the waiter rather than apologize he wanted to argue and justify. Food is good, service was terrible. I will chalk this up to a bad waiter, but... More

The breakfast buffet hit the spot and had a good variety of good food: blueberry pancakes, bacon waffles, biscuits, and breakfast tacos. And who doesn't love all you can eat bacon?! Menu food was really good too. Highly recommend and will be back!

Driven by Avery's many times and finally stopped for lunch. Not a fancy place, but clean and food was fresh. Fried fish was hot and crispy. Salad bar had good variety. Service was good. Not too crowded but it was 2pm on sunday afternoon. I will definitely return.

This is one of those places that does not look like much from the outside but we received great service and a wonderful breakfast. Be sure to check out the sand castle outside. We were fortunate enough to meet the artist when we were there. He was very interesting.

I had read good reviews on Trip Advisor, not sure if we were there on a bad day or what, we had 7 people in our party, 3 salads none fresh (wilted lettuce, dry chicken), I had the ribeye sandwich which was supposed to be medium rare (well done dry) , 2 kids burgers they ate them no complaints, and... Simple, but good gumbo and fried seafood with excellent friendly service. The food was good - side of green beans nicely done - not overcooked. Fried fish, oysters and shrimp were excellent. Good hush puppies as was the Gumbo which was included with the salad bar. Service was friendly and helpful and welcoming. Atmosphere and setting is simple. Note: We... More

We had breakfast today, there was eight of us. Service was great was great. Always came back to see we needed coffee or anything. Food was hot and good. We all ordered something different and not a problem. I would go back again. Did think the prices were a little on the high side but was good.
