Whenever my son and I are on the island, we do not miss a trip to the Island Moorings Marina and La Barataria Restaurant. In the summer it's fun to sit outdoors amongst the palm trees and sip a cool watermelon drink, eating their outrageously delicious garlic bread, while the meal is being prepared. A little pricey, but worth at... More

You rarely find such an exceptional meal. To start the meal we had escargot with blue cheese. It was beautifully served and simply divine. I had the duck special which was perfectly prepared. My husband had the veal special and was delighted. The cheese plate for dessert had wonderful fruit, and chocolate was a nice compliment. Our server, Sharon, suggested... More

Husband ordered the Eggs Benedict with the Lobster Cake. I ordered the Eggs Florentine with the Lobster Mashed Potatoes. A very generous portion of food - we could have shared 1 plate instead. Mine had "Bacon Bits" which was probably 4-5 pieces of bacon chopped into smaller pieces. Mimosa and Bloody Mary's were great. Service was unremarkable. A view of... More

Where does the restaurant management get their waitress staff? most likely from some Trailer park. This large women had zero class when it came to professionalism. She should go back to waiting in Dennys. Example: When a big flies in your $9.00 wine they should replace it not matter how much or little is left in your glass, no she... More

Last week my nine dining companions and I were served multiple courses with wine pairings at La Barataria. Having often experienced fine dining in my hometown of Charleston SC, I was surprised to find a comparable restaurant in, of all places, Aransas Pass. This was a dinner that had been a silent auction offering at a charity event for the... More

Loved the food and an excellent menu. Has a lot to choose from and the staff is friendly and helpful. When I return to Port Aransas, I will definitely eat here.

We dined at La Barataria for the first time in early September after reading some great reviews on Trip Advisor. Must admit, the food was very good however we had an unpleasant and uncomfortable experience and won't return. We were seated by one waitress who told us she would be our waiter. Another waitress came to our table to take... More

I come to Port Aransas two or three times a year and am always on the lookout for a new restaurant I haven't tried. I would never have found this place if not for Trip Advisor, as it is not on any of the main streets and the signage off the highway is very small. In fact, even though I... More

My husband and I just spent several days in Port A. We had just about given up on finding a good restaurant in Port A. As luck would have it, an employee at Coastal Closet (which by the way, is a great shop), recommended La Barataria. We tried it for brunch and loved the food, service and everything! We went...
