The wife and I ended up splitting a ribeye steak which cost $40 for the one steak. It was nothing to write home about for sure. Will not return, and shoulda left when we first got there because the hostess/waitress profiled me as we walked in since I was wearing my overalls, and asked if maybe we might want to... More

Love the food at this new location and appreicate all the improvements to the building. Have dined at lunch & dinner and both meals were wonderful. If you are complaining about the prices at dinner, then go for lunch. Considering the entire dining experience...atmosphere, room between tables, friendly waiters & great service... then this restaurant is worth the price. One... More

Really, they have come a long way baby. From the origin of average fare, they now have great food, good service, and a much better location. Their beer selection is fantastic, along with hard liquor and the usual wine list. I know others disagree, I say the best in Port A.

There have been cases where an established restaurant moved and expanded and improved but we liked the old version better than the new so because we liked the old Phoenix so much we were a little leery of the new and expanded Phoenix. Boy, were we ever pleasantly surprised. The food is the same superior quality but the new site... More

I miss the the original Cafe Phoenix. They moved to the old Pelican's Landing and did a great job fixing it up. Love the cool bar area . They make great cocktails and have a reasonable and yummy lunch menu. Love the tempura vegetables and the gyro on pita. Two of our group had the special pistachio crusted grouper... Neither... More

Gave a glowing review last year after dining on numerous occasions at their old location. Dined at their new location this summer and was very disappointed. Quaint atmosphere gone and great food is now average. Too bad. Port A lost their best restaurant.

Cafe Phoenix is now called "The Phoenix." The food is good, but the prices are ridiculous! We all had an idea of what we would be eating . . . Mediterranean food with plenty of items for all 9 members of our group, but the on-line menu is NOT the menu we were given. Our waitress was very nice, but... More

Tempura battered veggie appetizer is a must! I would also recommend the crab cake, either solo or as a meal. The new place is bigger and better than their old location. Full bar this time, they have a great area upstairs for cocktails. Service was polite and friendly, but not overbearing. The Phoenix has truly risen.

Cafe Phoenix, now called "The Phoenix" has moved to a much larger location with an expanded menu and 2 bars (inside and outside). Located at 337 N. Alister St. (361) 749-9277 and they now serve dinner. In early September, we were lucky enough to secure a reservation. Everything we tried was made to order and delicious. Service was a little... My husband and I are here year round. Since Phoenix moved, we have tried to have dinner at their new location. Last time, no one would answer the door when many people were in the bar. This time I called for reservations... First a call back,we could come first serve for patio seating. Then a return call to our cell... More
