Nice Lunch at Love and War

We do not get to this side of Plano very often and thus have not been to Love and War in Texas in several years. This restaurant is just as we had remembered - great Texas atmosphere and food and quick and friendly service. Also, the restaurant did not seem as noisy as some of the similar places... read more

We wanted to try a place that we had never been to before. The food was OK, my bar drink was below average tasted like water. It was super LOUD there and felt like we had to yell at each other to hear as well as to the waitress. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant as there is nothing special about... More

Prepare yourself for bloating. This place had more salt than the Atlantic Ocean! It truly made it impossible to enjoy the natural flavors of the food. My steak was straight out of the salt shaker. And although everyone at my table got a different entree, they all seriously tasted alike- the same salty seasoning was used on all of them!... More

I realize that restaurants are catering to a younger and younger crowd but lunch is typically not the time that the younger crowd frequents sit down restaurants so I wish the management could consider turning down the music. Background music is great but when it's too loud, diners cannot visit. On the other hand, food and service today was excellent.... More

Our friends took us to this place and we had a good time. The waiter was quick and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was really tasty. I liked the Texas theme and how they had menu items that represented all parts of the state, seafood from the gulf, Tex-Mex from the border, steaks from cattle country. Everyone at... More

Went in with a group of friends. Got seated right away and I begged the waitress for a glass of water. At the same time, two in the group ordered margarita's. When she came back with water for all of us, the margarita's looked watery. Sent them back, along with an order for queso & a couple beers. After waiting... More

We reserved tables in front of the band. Appetizers were good. We had the stuffed jalepenos and fried green beans, pickles and guac. The guac is made at the table. A few of us ate dinner and it was typical BBQ/southern choices. The portions are huge. The music is good, although I wish they had real tables and not picnic... More

The food is good but I would STAY AWAY from the events with love music. There is no organization and complete chaos defined by the ride audience and customers. And the service during live shows is painfully slow.

This restaurant offers food all sourced from the 6 different sections of Texas. So they divide their elaborate menu up into 6 geographic sections and there are great entrees in each category. Two examples - I had the half chicken and ribs plate, my brother had the beef and chicken fajitas. Both were excellent - meats all tender and the... More

It's a must go place, especially if you enjoy Texas country music. They always feature good bands. The food is good, the service is good and the beer is cold.
