Good Food

I love the steak at Abuelo's. I have eaten here many times and everything is good. Their chips and salsas are the best, love the habanero salsa.

Very consistent. Servers (Bar staff are very engaged). Probably the best house margarita I've had on a consistent basis. I have dined in Abuelo's in Kansas City, Myrtle Beach and Plano and have been very pleased.

We just spent two hours here, very unfortunately. After one hour, our waiter, Dan, told us that he "lost" our order, but that his manager was "taking care of it." He had no record of what we'd even ordered (?), so we had to order all over again. You'd think that after this kind of debacle, he'd be more attentive,... More

Lunch at 1pm, not crowded but with the service we got, you would have thought they were packed. My daughter's meat was slimy and had a green tint to it and my nachos were cold. The Dr Pepper was flat, crumbs for chips and the waitress was horrible. We usual go to the Abuelo's off of Hwy 75 in Plano... More

Although this is a chain I still think they make the most delicious margaritas in town. All types of choices on their drinks. I can never have more than one and still drive. So usually I share my drink with a friend. The food is high quality Mexican food. The restaurant is visually very picturesque.

I really enjoy Abuelo's for taking the edge off traditional Tex-Mex food. There is more variety on their menu and the selections of salsa is wonderful! I also like the option for different beans, so you're not stuck with the usual refried beans. It's a little more pricey than some of the casual chains, but well worth it.

My husband and I did a call ahead which usually gets you in to most restaurants within five to tens minutes. This was not the case at Abuelo's, the young man that greeted us looked totally confused and if he could scream for help he would have. We finally wound up eating in the bar and took almost an hour... More

Met my best friend for lunch. We sat in the bar to wait for our table, but decided to stay there as the service was great, the bartender very friendly and several other small Christmas luncheons in the room which made it fun. The drinks were Grrreat and the bar appetizer items where yummie.

The location and building are nice. We were seated right away and our server showed up without delay at first. No surprise there, as the place was at about twenty percent capacity. Salsas, chips and quests are very good. Our chips ran out pretty quickly and weren't refilled for quite some time. Drink refills suffered the same fate. Not sure... More
