Not Your Typical Chinese Restaurant

Very unusual dishes, don't go there for a typical menu. Chris the owner has done a great job of pairing great food and wine in a nice setting.

It is common for people to be surprised when they enter this restaurant...the colors are dark red and black, and a very cool vibe, and all of this in a storefront in the middle of a strip center. Don't be put off by that, because many loyal patrons have discovered a true paradise of fine dining. First off, Chris Yao,... More

The best twice cooked pork in town. You actually cannot go wrong with any of the items on the menu. Small and quaint with a decor that is comfortable and upscale. Would also recomend the soft shell crab. Menu is pricey.

Very attentive service; tasteful decor; comfortable seating. Oh, and the food--all good! I have no favorites. Just enough food, not much for leftovers.

I found this location after returning from Shanghai, China. I was looking for as authentic Xiao Long Bao as I could find, as I fell in love with this dish while in China. I was extremely let down. Fuzi's steamed their dumplings in stainless baskets with paper with wholes. The dumplings stick to the basket and tear, thus dumping the... More

This is not your typical Asian restaurant with value food and sub-par service. This is one of the few higher end restaurants with real good ambiance, very nice service and exceptional quality food. The clay pot dishes are my favorite and stand out as something you will not find in many other places. Again, this is not your typical restaurant... More

Our family went to Yao Fuzi for the first time, with much anticipation, as it had been highly touted to us by others. It wasn't my first choice, and now I understand the reasons why. 1) The setup for a table of 5 adults is much too small. This group of 5 adults ordered 5 main dishes plus individual portions... I just moved here from Austin and thought no one could beat my fav Asian restaurant there, but Yao Fuzi did--and then some! From the appetizer to my entree, the food was prepared precisely to my order and arrived steaming hot. The service was excellent as well. It is now my go-to place here. A couple from Frisco sitting at... More

Our daughter & family invited us to Mother's Day lunch. We have not eaten oriental food in this area but enjoy it when we visit Hawaii so we were happy to try it. They were serving from the dinner menu so the usual lunch portions were not available. Everyone enjoyed their food very much, including an excellent pan fried duck,... More

I have been going to Yao Fuzi for a few years now and have always been delighted by the place. It is in a small strip center in West Plano that you would never expect to find such an elegant restaurant in. Food is always great. Highly recommend Jalapeno Chicken (they will make it as spicy or mild as you... More
