Huge portions and an insane dining atmostphere

You will wait in line when you eat here, because it is terribly popular. Be prepared for huge portions - you WILL need a to go box. It's home style Texas cooking, what you'd expect from a Baptist pot luck dinner. I think the potato salad could stand to have fewer onions, but that's just me. The... read more

For barbecue connoisseurs this restaurant is definitely not the best but it's also not the worst. If you have a need for a quick BBQ fix this will do, but it's not my favorite. Good: atmosphere is authentic! You feel comfortable and not rushed. It's a nice hole in the wall. The air smells like tasty barbecue! The service is... More

As someone who makes their own BBQ and has eaten it in many of the hotspots (Austin, Memphis, Charlotte) I can honestly say I am confused as to why this place is so highly rated. Is it the large portions? The sides? The fairly low price? (its definitely not expensive no matter what anyone here says, 4 meat plate with... More

We ate at Central Texas Style Barbecue last Saturday night. It's been our favorite BBQ place for several years now and I recommend it completely to anyone looking for great BBQ. The meat is always great, the sides are always tasty and abundant (the new potatoes are worth the trip just by themselves!); and the home-style family ambience is comforting.... More

Their servings are plentiful, one plate is really for two people, they are so friendly. You actually have to wait in line for lunch and dinner at times.

We are monthly regulars here because the food is good and local community business. They tend to get busy but the wait isn't too long. Very homey and cozy environment, very eclectic. Ribs, turkey, chopped beef sandwiches, mac cheese, sweet and new potatoes, and banana pudding are our favorites. You can call in order to pick up too.

The food was delicious. Ribs just the way I like them and Brisket done to perfection. A bit crowded right at dinnertime,as expected. Kinda cumbersome in the food service line. It's all good. Affordable.

There is no place that competes with a Central Texas BBQ baked potato fully loaded with chopped beef. I eat there fairly regularly.

Best barbecue in town! The ribs are to die for as well as the home prepared sides. Lots of comfort food. Portions are enough to share and well worth the money. It is great to order ahead for a party.

If you love barbecue, this is the place to go, it's a bit driving if you live in Houston but it totally worthy. Get the brisket and the sausages, with any side. The food is delicious, the wait is not that bad.
