We stopped in on out way to Schlitterbahn and the line was literally out the door! We patiently waited our turn to make it to the counter. With so many choices it was hard to decide. So I went with some fruit filled kolaches and molasses cookies. Kolaches were great there but the ones I took home didn't taste as... More

We were staying at Canyon Lake and friends said we had to try this bakery. It is the oldest bakery in Texas. We arrived at the bakery about 3:30 PM and the counter was still filled with delicious baked goods - which was a good thing as people kept coming through the door the entire time we were there. We... Naegelin's is one of the best traditional bakeries in Texas, especially in favoring the German pastries. They have a great selection of cookies, muffins, cakes, sweet and savory rolls, breads, and on and on and on. When your in New Braunfels, it is a must stop.

Billed as the "oldest bakery in Texas" -- says so on the sign, this is certainly one of the best bakeries in Texas. We bought a bag of pastries that weighed about 5 pounds, which magically transported themselves to our waistlines. Worth every bit of it: cookies, kolaches, fruit strudels, danishes. You name it. No line when we arrived about... More

Everything we bought was delicious. It was right across the street to the Faust Hotel which was very convenient. Bought a few items to take home.

We were in town for 6 days and had breakfast here every morning! We tried something new everyday and we were never disappointed with anything! The prices were very reasonable we thought. We also would get something for a nice afternoon snack. We placed a to go order for pick up on our last day and it was ready and... More

This bakery has the best kolaches, pigs in a blanket, and strudels. Always a line out the door but well-worth it!

This is a must try if you are in NB since it is the oldest bakery in Texas. Everything is pretty good, but the German pretzels are amazing. Cookies were dry though.

This is not just a historic bakery, but a delicious one at that. You can bring the family here to grab cookies, donuts, or cupcakes and have a glass of milk on the patio. They also make other staples: dinner rolls, tortillas, etc.
